Double Peeking Bunnies

If you visit my blog often, you know that I am a fan of Sassy Cheryl's and I often join her Challenges. This week it is a sketch challenge that I struggled with. I used Double Peeking Bunnies and I love the results. Look at them flirt!

Poor Arnie

Poor Arnie, I pity him. He lives with his wife and his mother-in-law who both just happen to be real harpies. Constantly nagging Arnie to do this, do that, never giving him the peace and quiet he craved. Recents events in Arnie's household gave him a solution. Mother-in-law demanded a new toilet seat, naturally wife agreed. Unfortunately, wife did not understand that you could buy a toilet seat separate from the actual commode, so she bought a whole new toilet and charged it to dear old Arnie's credit card. When the new toilet was delivered, the lights went on in Arnie's head and finally he had the answer, a place to call his very own. A place to enjoy a little peace and quiet.  A place where his mother-in-law or his wife would dare bother him. His very own, personal private outhouse.

Wait, I'll open the door and so you can take a peek. Look at the happy smile of contentment on Arnie's face. What bliss.

Arnie in the Loo is one of the new images being released today at Bonibleaux Designs and Arnie is not the only fun image. Take the Dude Time Doodles Blog Hop and see this month's new releases. Don't forget, one of us is the mystery hostess so be sure to leave each of us some love, you might be our winner. Unfortunately, we are missing Fink on our hop because her injured wrist is preventing her from coloring. Here's the list, enjoy the hop.

Lamb of God

The freebie this week at Bugaboo Stamps is so perfect for this time of year. The entire time I spent coloring the image "Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world" echoed in my mind.

Maisy and Creamy Snuggles

It's Squigglefly challenge time and this week it is team Chelsea's turn to ask you to use "Pattern Paper-Handmade" in your creation. To assist me, I  used "Maisy and Creamy Snuggles" by Diane Carubia of Squigglefly. Obviously, my Creamy loved being outside running and playing. In fact, Creamy had a good time rolling in the mud and that is why he doesn't look so creamy.

Have you ever seen a beautiful sweet cream-colored Golden Retriever after she has wallowed in the mud? No? Well, here is my sweet Rozie after rolling in her beloved mud, she won't go near water except in her kiddie pool but, she loves mud. Unfortunately, it was February about five in the morning and this is what she looked like when she walked in the door. Look at that smile (and the mud in her mouth), she was so proud of herself, I wanted to choke her. I put her in the bathtub and rinsed her off, barely awake myself and before having coffee.  When I pulled the plug on the tub, all the mud got stuck in the pipe. Just another day in paradise with Rozie.

Guess you know where my mind was when I colored Maisy and Creamy Snuggles. Check out the rest of Squigglefly's design team to see what is on their mind. Don't forget to use a Squigglefly image and use handmade pattern  paper to enter the challenge. If you don't have a Squigglefly image (cannot image) check out the freebies available here.

Feel better

Back in February, Bugaboo Stamps offered Itchy - dog bowl, this cute little puppy dog, as a freebie. Because of my procrastination, I didn't get it done in time for their challenge. However, now I am in need of a get well card for a very special four-year old. He is the nephew, of an online friend and member of the Dude Time Doodles community.  Earlier this week, he had a very large tumor and his kidney removed. Unfortunately he must now undergo chemo and radiation.  If you would like to send a card, I have listed his name and address below. Prayers are needed as well!

Late breaking news, I have been chosen to join the Design Team at PaperTemptress! I cannot wait to dig in and start working with such fabulous paper and sharing my results with you.

So easy

Today Squigglefly is premiering three new artists, Paulette Rich Long, Nate Owens and Diane Knott. I am happy to share with you one of the images included in the "Easter Collection" set by Paulette Rich Long. This card was so easy to make. I printed it on yellow paper, added some pink ribbon and stickles and voilà.

Get well soon Teddy

Don't let that pitiful look on the face of Get well soon Teddy, by Stamping Dragon Designs, fool you, Teddy is not sick. He didn't feel like getting out of bed today so he's faking it. His sad look is because someone's been eating his chocolates. Hmm, wonder who it was, Goldilocks?

You still have five days to enter the Stamping With the Dragons challenge, "Bring on Spring/Anything to do with Spring"sponsored by Crafty Sentiments Designs.

If you are a Squigglefly fan, tomorrow's release will introduce you to three new artists, Paulette Rich Long, Nate Owens and Diane Knott. Rumor has it that more new talent will be added soon!

Flowerpot Bunny

I treated myself to a number of Sassy Cheryl's new images and Flowerpot Bunny is one of them. Try as he might to bring spring joy, our weather has been dreadful. Rain, snow, and cold temperatures is not spring joy. Hopefully by the 4th of July, it will be spring.

Pirates and Rum

Ahoy Matey Matt by Bonibleaux Designs has stopped by to tell you why it is that we associate pirates with rum.  The answer is rather simple. Back in the heyday of pirates, "kil devil" a byproduct of processed sugar cane, was used by the Caribbean captains because it was cheap. A small amount was normally added to the water to kill algae and to enhance the taste. See, I told you it was simple.

Stella cracks me up!

Several weeks ago, I placed in the top three at the Bugaboo Challenge and I won two images. One of my choices was "Stella Parking". What I love about Stella is that she has the courage to say out loud, what I'm thinking.

Pink Elephant Alert Cancelled

The Pink Elephant alert posted on my blog, March 7, has been cancelled. The simple explanation is that Lil Bird, by Brian Lock of Squigglefly could not stay focused when he met Lil Yellow Bird and as a result, look what she deposited in their nest. The sad part is that most, if not all of the elephants, lost their deposits for the continuing education classes necessary for recertification that they paid for and the airlines will not refund their tickets. So members, be aware that when called upon, one of the pink elephants will be attendance however, they will not be re-certified nor happy.

If you haven't already guessed, "Pushing my Buttons" is this week's new challenge at Squigglefly. For more inspiration, visit members of Vicki's group using the links on my sidebar. If necessary, feel free to steal the buttons off of someone's shirt and join the fun.

Yippee Skippy!

It's the first day of spring! Finally but would you believe that the weatherman is predicting snow showers on Thursday! Ugh! Actually double UGH!  Snow or no snow, I am closing the door on winter until later this year and thinking in terms of warm, warmer, and hot weather.  Keeping spring in mind, I could not walk away from the designer paper I used to make this card. I just think its gorgeous and the colors translate to spring.

A new home

Yesterday was an impossibly beautiful day in Central Pennsylvania, the temperature was 77 degrees! When I walked outside, I saw two flies mating and a weed starting to bloom.  The weed is still outside however, the fly has decided to move inside with us. Oh for joy, for joy!

Friends of mine have recently purchased a new home. To celebrate the occasion, I sent them this card.

Today we drink green beer

This adorable St. Patty's Day Snowman from Sassy Cheryl's is here to help me wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day. I personally think you have a greater chance of seeing a snowman doing the Irish jig then you do of seeing a leprechaun.  But that's my opinion.

In case you are wondering, the shamrocks were printed on green paper and the ends touched with bleached.

Easel Card

Today is the third Wednesday of the month (can you believe it). That means its time for you to join our  Inspiration Challenge at Dude Time Doodles. This month there is a twist, an EASEL card using this color scheme. You have until next Tuesday, March 22 (hey, that's my brother's birthday too) to enter the challenge. The rules are the same but if in doubt, Dude Time Doodles has all the details.

So now you know why I was trying to make an easel card when I made a wrong turn and ended with a pop-up card instead?

Success came with Jose Hosed from Bonibleaux Designs because he was much more cooperative although I must tell you it was difficult seeing him standing in his polka-dotted undies while watering his lawn. Gotta give him credit, he's determined to have a nice lawn this summer. Just wish he would have a little more decorum.

Come on now, if I can do it, you can too. Join the fun and visit all the blogs of Dude Time Doodles design team members for more inspiration.

I love daisies

I adore daisies, in fact, they are my favorite flower (children take note), so this design paper went into my basket without hesitation. Since the daisies are so large, I was uncertain how to proceed until I saw a lovely card by Laurie Unger, and the lightbulb went on (or maybe off). With a slight modification, I had my answer. Thank you Laurie for the inspiration.

Teddy Garden

I'll bet you didn't know that bears like to cultivate the soil, plant seeds and watch them grow? About 90% of an Eastern Black Bear's diet comes from plants with a few insects and honey for dessert. Because of the economy it follows that bears would plant gardens and Teddy Garden by Marla Shega of Squigglefly is doing just that.

Today is the beginning of a new Squigglefly challenge, "Anything that Reminds You of Spring" and Chelsea's team is sharing some sweet treats. To join the fun, use a Squigglefly image that reminds you of spring to be eligible for a prize. Shop here or check out the freebies that are available if you do not have a Squigglefly image.  Until March 19, for each image purchased you have a chance to win the first prize, your choice of $25 worth of Squigglefly images, second prize: your choice of $15 worth of Squigglefly images, and third prize: your choice of $10 worth of Squigglefly images. Winners will be announced on Squigglefly's blog on Sunday, March 20.

Spring Joy

Funky Bunny from Sassy Cheryl's is a perfect image to bring a touch of spring joy. Turning the clock one hour ahead and having an extra hour of daylight is one particular joy I relish!

Our news

This week has brought such horrific and sad news to our community. A fire in a neighboring township cost the lives of seven children, ages three months to eleven years old. One child, age three, escaped. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, and members of the Westboro Baptist Church (not affiliated with any known Baptist conventions or associations) announced that they will be in attendance staging a protest spewing their hatred. It is ironic that a young man from a a different nearby community, was killed in action while serving in the military, and the same group held a protest at his funeral. The father of the young man took the matter before the United States Supreme Court and last week, in an 8-1 decision, the Court upheld that group's right to protest at funerals under the First Amendment.  As difficult as this is to swallow, we must remember that thousands of lives have been lost to protect and uphold this very same Amendment, the privilege of freedom of speech.

On another note, I am so very thankful to be able to tell you that my daughter, son-in-law and all of the military stationed in Okinawa, Japan are safe and have been accounted for. Lots to be thankful for.

Time to get serious

Okay, enough fun for this week, time to get down to serious business and the serious business we must get down to is Jiggy's diet. If you read my blog on February 11, "Penny Goes Shopping" you saw for yourself what Penny buys at the grocery store in an effort to control Jiggy's waistline, or lack thereof, and look what he does the minute Penny's back is turned (it's not her fault there's a huge sale at her local craft store and she HAD to go). To make matters worse, Jiggy gave up dessert for Lent!  All Jiggy, from Stamping Dragon Designs, can say for himself is Ooooooo Cake!

You still have time to enter the "Use the Colors Green/Yellow-Gold/White for St. Patrick's Day" Challenge at Stamping Dragons Designs The challenge sponsor, Tiffany's Doodlesis offering two digis to the winner and a second prize is a spot as the Guest Designer for our next challenge.  Stop by and visit all the members of the design team's blogs using the links on my sidebar.

20,000 Leagues under the bathrub

What a surprise Bobby Bubbles found while snorkeling in the depths of his bathtub. Bobby has been saving for a dream vacation to go snorkeling in the Bahamas. He spent a ton of money buying equipment including an underwater camera and he has been practicing using his snorkel in the hopes of getting the most from his Bahama experience. What a surprise he had during one of his practice exercises when he discovered the Creature from the Black Lagoon was residing a mere 20,000 leagues under his bathtub. Bobby jump out of the tub and in all his nakedness, ran down the street hollering for help. Why didn't Bobby just pull the stopper at the bottom of the bathtub?

Like this image? Would you like it even better if it was a freebie? Well, guess what, you are in luck. Bobby Bubbles by Bonibleaux Designs is this month's Guest Designer Freebie and is available at Dude Time Doodles for a limited time. You have until Tuesday, March 15 to post your creation at Dude Time Doodles for a chance to win a spot as a Guest Design Team Member.

A dog's world

If you have ever been owned by a cat and a dog at the same time, you have probably marveled at your good fortune for having such a good kitty-cat and at the same time, wondered how you got such a bad dog.  If you thought that, you are one of the millions who have been hoodwinked by a cat. Since the beginning of time, dogs have understood their role in life is to be a friend to man. Cats, on the other hand, know they are far superior to all living creatures and we were put on this good green earth for their pleasure and entertainment.

Today's card is a good example of a cat's state of mind. The cat is bored, hates sharing the spotlight with the dog and devises a plan to get rid of the "thing" that does not use a litter box.  Meanwhile, the dog is peacefully sleeping. No one is home to see the dastardly deed, so the cat intentionally knocks over the vase spilling the contents on the new carpet. When the human comes home, the dog, overjoyed, will wags its tail, jump up and down and run in circles even if you've only been gone ten minutes. When the commanding voice yells "who did this?" the dog will wag its tail harder just to please the human and, unwittingly confessed to a crime it did not commit. In the meantime, the cat, with a smirk on its cute little fluffy face, stands up, stretches until its hind-end is in close proximity to the ceiling, gives the "Rockefeller salute" and leaves the room.

I tried

I tried to make an easel card and somehow, I made a wrong turn and ended with a pop-up card. Wonder how I did that? I blame it on "The General" from Bonibleaux Designs, because he was shouting so many orders, I must have turned left when I should have turned right.

Pink Elephant Alert

This is official notification to all members of the Pink Elephant Society (you know who you are) that all pink elephants have been granted a leave of absence for purposes of visiting families, friends, and educational recertification. In the interim, Lil Bird, by Brian Lock of Squigglefly, will be available to subscribers. Lil Bird when hatched is white and at maturity, turns green. Please contact you local representative of the Pink Elephant Society to discuss alternative colors and additional feathers.

How convenient for me that my Lil Bird is green since this week's challenge at Squigglefly is "Grateful for Green"! Be sure to visit "Vicki's Squigglefly Group" for more green and join the challenge.

Olives

Stella from Bugaboo Stamps, says what's on her mind without alcohol. One can only image what she has to say after a martini not to mention two! Wonder why she didn't eat the olives, after all, olives are one of the oldest foods and a good source of nourishment, more so than potatoes chips!

Easy

Time for something easy, just stamping. The card is a beautiful shade of gray with white embossing. Don't know why my camera struggles with gray?

What do dragons

What do dragons do this time of year? Well, they search for the legendary pot of gold the leprechauns have hidden, just like you and me.

Jiggy's Pot of Gold by Stamping Dragons Designs assisted me in the new "Use the Colors Green/Yellow-Gold/White for St. Patrick's Day" Challenge starting today at Stamping Dragons Designs.  The challenge sponsor, Tiffany's Doodlesis offering two digis to the winner. And speaking of winners, Jenny of "Stamps, Pencils and Paper!won the Guest Design Team prize. Stop by and leave her some love and please visit my fellow design team members of Stamping Dragons Designs

Graci and Kayla

If I didn't know better, I would think that Sassy Cheryl was sitting in my backyard watching my twin granddaughters, Graci and Kayla, riding their tricycle up and down the sidewalk when she drew this image. Of course, there are a few subtle differences. Their hair is much longer and Graci, our forever tomboy, wouldn't be caught in public with a hair ribbon, she much prefers her "super hero" shirts and pants. Kayla on the other hand, loves glitz, glitter, anything "princess" and wouldn't go out in public without her jewelry.

Cowboys

Being a child of the ??'s, I am a huge fan of cowboys after spending so many Saturday mornings in front of a small screen television watching the guys in the white hats chase the guys in the black hats on horseback. Obviously, Deputy Dave from Bonibleaux Designs, has spent a lot of  time on horseback chasing the bank robbers or the hired-hands working for the wealthy banker cheating the ranchers out of water.

If you haven't guessed, Deputy Dave is also my choice to use for this month's sketch challenge at Dude Time Doodles.

THE RULES:

  • You will have one week to flip the Sketch, twist the Sketch, work the Sketch and submit the Sketch.
  • You are not required to use Bonibleaux Designs although it would make us really really happy and giggle a lot if you did!
  • MUST be a masculine themed card, you can use humor, innuendo, be a little naughty, sarcastic, but it has got to be for a DUDE!
  • Be sure to use the InLinkz at Dude Time Doodles to submit your creation.
HERE'S THE SKETCH:

The rest is up to you. You have until March 8th to join us for a chance to win a $10.00 gift certificate from this month's Sketch Challenge's sponsor, TLC Creations

Before you visit the blogs of the other Dude Time Doodles design team members, you must, if you haven't read it already, check out the very first, edition of Dudeville Hollow Holla. Aside from catching up on all the news that's fit to print from Dudeville, I guarantee you will get a good laugh, it is such a hoot, but then, what would you expect?

A balanced diet

As far as I'm concerned, Mildred from Bugaboo Stamps, has the right idea when it comes to a balanced diet, chocolate in each hand. Doesn't even have to be chocolate, it could be two cookies, two brownies, two beers. . .
