Hanging the Stockings

More often than not, less is more and my card today is a great example. I was so pleased with Hanging the Stockings from Just Inklined when I finished coloring the image. I don't know why I thought that crackle accents would give it just the right touch. Wrong decision! I've successfully used the medium before and never had a problem but this time, it caused the red and gray to bleed. To top it off, apparently the gold ink pad that I used was too old so after a few minutes what was gold turn black, resulting in the appearance of smoke filling the room where the fireplace is located. Oh well, what is done is done and cannot be undone and all we can do is learn from our mistakes. Makes me nuts since I haven't made a mistake since 1954 or was it 1953!

  1. Yep, beware those reds! If you hadn't said anything, we wouldn't have known though....basically you've given it a vintage look, so it isn't really a mistake. Don't want to ruin your perfect record, after all baby mistakes don't count. lol

  11. Don't you just hate it when that happens? I had to click on it to see where the red ran and where the gold turned to black. Looks like a vintage picture that you print and not color to me. The black looks fine since it looks aged. So dahling, your record is still strong. It is not a mistake it is a "One-of-a-Kind" vintage creation! Have a good one sweetie. Linda
