Neener-Neener

The Squigglefly artists are at it again and releasing new images today! I used the adorable Neener-Neener by Fawn Palmer for today's card. Don't you wish you could make a face and stick out your tongue at the world some days! Sure beats some other gestures people resort to when they are mad!

Bert Bumblethorpe

Poor, poor Bert Bumblethorpe from Just Inklined! This morning Bert awoke before the crack of dawn with the sickening realization that yesterday was his wife's birthday and he forgot! Chastising himself, he quickly showered, dressed and ran out the door! Meanwhile, Mrs. Bumblethorpe aware of Bert's mad dash out of the house, rested comfortably in her bed plotting her revenge. First up, a triple dose of laxatives in the chocolate brownies she planned on serving Bert with his supper and oh my, how Bert does love his brownies! Yep, poor Bert!

Celebrate the 4th of July

America's birthday is right around the corner. To honor the day and wave the red, white and blue, I used strips of Red Hot Pop Tone and Indigo Blue cardstock adhered to Solar White Classic Linen from the PaperTemptress. The 4th of July wouldn't be the same without sparkle so I added glittered stars, a gold embossed sentiment and thread to finish the card. Easy but dramatic!

Minute Man Marty

Today is Dude Time Doodles Blog Hop, when the Dude and the Dudettes showcase the newest residents of Dudeville Hollow from Bonibleaux Designs. My card features Minute Man Marty, just in time for the 4th of July.

If you are hopping along, you should have arrived at my blog after seeing Kevin's wonderful creation. Your next stop is to see the dazzling card crafted by Sharon. Be sure to leave a message as you hop along since one of us is the mystery host. And if you are just starting, just keep going and one by one, you'll make the full circle!

Telling it to the Dog

I am very blessed to be able to boast of having wonderful friends, but my very, very, best, best friends are my dogs! I tell them everything, random thoughts, things that weigh heavy on my heart, my impressions on the latest fashions, questions involving world events or just casual chatter. You name the subject and it is probably something I have discussed with my much loved Golden Retrievers, Rozie and Xena! For the most part, they remain silent but over the years I have noticed a behavior that I am convinced is a special communication and that is each time they look at you with both eyes and wink, they are saying I love you!

The sweet image is Telling it to the Dog from Mo's Digital Pencil.

Wishing you Sunshine!

I recently had my kitchen painted which is where I sit and color images because of the lighting. I did not wish all my beauty to distract the four young painters armed with paintbrushes and rollers, nor did I want to make them work around me. Instead, I disappeared to the basement where my craft area is located and tried out some new techniques from Jennifer McGuire's online class.

As a result of all the work and confusion associated with the painting, or maybe it was the paint fumes, I neglected to post that my blog was one of the spot prizes for Just Inklined's Blog Hop. So without further delay, the winner is Pam (Nedlut). Pam please email me so I can send you the image.

Over the Moon

Did you see the recent news story that the animal kingdom, in honor of the Olympics, has decided to host a variety of games and award gold, silver, and bronze metals to the highest achieving competitors. One such challenger is Over the Moon from Just Inklined shown here attempting to clear the lunar landscape. No worries, even though his first attempt failed, he will be given another chance tomorrow!

Sweet Smell

If you do a little research about the pig, you will learn that pigs do not have sweat glands and to keep cool, they take mud baths. While it is true that pigs do love to roll about and relax in mud, they do it because they found out by reading a trendy fashion magazine that mud baths aid in keeping their complexions soft and smooth as well as firm! To prove my point, Sweet Smell from the Digi Doodle Shop, is lifting her head to show you that there is no flab under her chin!

Sweet Smell is also trying to entice you into joining the new Farmyard or Zoo Challenge that starts today at the Digi Doodle Shop and a chance for you to win a $10 gift certificate to the Digi Doodle Shop! Of course you will want to take a good long mud bath first!

Nag Nag Nag

There are so many studies and opinions as to what is the most common cause of divorce and the answer is rather simple and does not required research. The chief cause of divorce is marriage! I mean really, how easy is that? Maybe I should seriously consider charging for all the knowledge that I have stored in the grey cells!

Dude Time Doodles is hosting a new challenge and we would like to see what you create for a dude with a Wedding/Anniversary theme. For my card, I used Nag Nag Nag, a great example of what you might except on your anniversary if you do not give your beloved the perfect gift! The winner of the challenge will receive two images from Pattie's Creations our sponsor for the challenge. So get busy crafting!

You have two weeks to enter your creation for Where's the Color and you might be the winner of a $10 gift certificate to the Can You Digi It store!

Proud

If it's Monday that means its time for a new Squigglefly challenge and this week Holley's Hobbyists are running the show! The challenge, Border Patrol, is to add flair to your border with a punch, torn edge, deco scissors or something that might be a surprise to enhance the opening edge or all the edges of your card. For my card I used Squigglefly's artist, Diana Garrison's, newly released set of images, Proud! Gather all your punches and get busy, you might be our next winner!

Coexist

Coexist from Mo's Digital Pencil serves as a reminder that if each of us makes it a habit to be courteous, tolerant, nonjudgmental and to always extend the hand of friendship, all of humanity could reside in peace on this wonderful place we call earth.

Kiss the Cook

Summertime plus an outdoor grill for some reason turns men into cooks! Not sure how or when this phenomenon started but if you look around your neighborhood, chances are you will see a man proudly flipping the burgers and dogs not to mention fiddling with the knobs so the temperature is just right. So summertime is here and I have a grill. All I need is for a kind, tall, handsome, and RICH bachelor to come along and man the grill such as Kiss the Cook from Just Inklined. I would even provide the hot dogs! Of course, if two such bachelors appeared, we could have hamburgers too!

Mr. and Mrs.

Regardless what time of year it is, you can always find an occasion that calls for a card. With the help of the beautiful cardstock available at the PaperTemptress and a stamp from the bargain bind, creating a customized card can easily be accomplished. For today's card I embossed Nero cardstock with gold and mounted the image on dry embossed Autumn Haystack cardstock. To compliment the golden undertone and glimmer of the cardstock, I added gold thread. Easy and quickly completed with elegant results!

Johnny on the Spot

I must admit that when I first saw Johnny on the Spot, from Bonibleaux Designs, this month's freebie for Dude Time Doodles' Guest Designer/Freebie Challenge, I was stumped. I fell asleep thinking what am I going to do with an image of a pot? The mind is amazing and when morning came, I had my answer. Since there is no plumbing connected to the pot, I would sit it in the yard and fill it with flowers! What are you going to do with your pot? The Dude and Dudettes would love to see what you create and if you are chosen as our winner, you will be the guest designer for July!

Frantic Graduate

A sweet young friend of mine recently joined the graduating class of 2012 so in honor of the occasion, a card was definitely in order! I used Frantic Graduate from Sassy Cheryl's Digis to send my congratulations. I included a small cash gift since come August, she will be a freshman at West Chester University which is very near and dear to my heart since my youngest daughter is an alumni.

Totally Pawsome

It is Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals' turn to host Squigglefly's challenge this week and I like to play along as often as I can. With the help of Totally Pawsome by Squigglefly's artist, Fawn Palmer, I created a circle card for the "Shape Up" challenge. So come along and join the challenge by making a shaped card!

Summer School

All the way through first to twelfth grade, I thought going to school was one big social event. I had no clue I was there to learn. One of the top happiest days of my life was the day I walked down the aisle to receive my high school diploma and I was free! As poor of a student that I was, I never had to go to Summer School like these cool fishes from Squigglefly's artist, Diana Garrison! Looks to me like they are having an amusing time as well!

Betty Bumblethorpe

As Betty Bumblethorpe from Just Inklined left the candy store with two boxes of her favorite chocolates in hand, she saw a reflection of herself in the shop window across the way. Betty immediately noticed that her once hourglass shape was now circular with a peculiar bulge in the middle. Betty decided right then and there the time had come to go on a diet. Pleased with her commitment, she then decided the diet would have to wait until after she had eaten the two boxes of chocolates she had just purchased, after all she thought, no point in squandering money and besides, isn't it a sin to waste food?

In the Garden

Time for a new challenge at the Digi Doodle Shop and a chance for you to win a $10 gift certificate to the store but you must participate! The challenge is to make a card for a male and since Father Day is right around the corner on June 17, why not start early and join the challenge! For my card I used In the Garden and a dollar stamp I found at the local craft store. So once again I am asking you to put your crafty hat on and join the challenge!

Aaron Aeronautic

When it is the first Wednesday of the month, there is always a new challenge to join at Dude Time Doodles! This month's theme is Boys and Their Toys! My boy is Aaron Aeronautic far from home, flying his airplane up, up and away from all cares and troubles, ignoring the fact that the grass is waiting to be mowed, cars that need to be washed and a princess-like wife expecting him to run the vacuum cleaner!

To see more inspiration, please visit the Dude and the Dudettes and find out what toys their boys are playing with to get out of doing chores! Join the challenge for a chance to win three images from Dude Time Doodles!

Come and Get it

Holley's Hobbyists are heading up the new challenge that starts today at Squigglefly and the challenge is to "Make Me Laugh". I used the newly released Come and Get it by Squigglefly's artist, Lynne Stansberry, for my card. Although it may not be the funniest card, when all is said and done, the last laugh will be the sweet puppy's when she learns how to stand on her hind legs to reach for whatever tasty morels happen to be waiting there! So join the fun and Make Me Laugh at Squigglefly!

Baby Line

Since it is the first Monday in June, it's time for Just Inklined's Blog Hop and this month we are hosted by the talented, Karen, who challenged the design team to use embossing, anyway or anyhow on our cards. I used the adorable Baby Line from Just Inklined and embossed the backing paper as well as the corners. If you've followed along the hop, you've arrived from ace-artist Jak's blog and your next stop is to see the awesome creation crafted by Lori. Be sure to leave a comment since there is a spot prize along the way of a Just Inklined image!

Blind Mice

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw Blind Mice from Hambo Stamps - Digital Image Store. Naturally, it landed in my shopping cart along with several other fun images. I'm so glad the farmer's wife missed these cuties!

Heart Blowing Ellie

Now that One-a-Day-in-May is finished, Squigglefly is once again releasing new images each Saturday. Not only is Squigglefly revealing the new images available starting today, they are also introducing three new artists to the ever-growing Squigglefly family, Denise Clemson, Mike Eustis and Kim Fleming!

To get back in the swing of Saturday's new releases, I created a card using the sweet image Heart Blowing Ellie by Louise Gardner available today!

Cheshire Cat

There are several theories as to the origin of the phrase "grinning like a Cheshire Cat" made popular by Lewis Carroll when he authored Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (published 1865), but no one knows for sure. One conjecture is that because Cheshire was a dairy community, there was an abundance of milk and cream to keep all of the cats in town fat and very happy! But I disagree! After seeing Cheshire Cat from Just Inklined, my personal opinion, which I am certain you want to know, is that the cat had strutted his fat self within inches of a dog secured by a chain and then thumbed his nose! The Cheshire Cat is just very proud of himself for tormenting a dog!
