Gabe Gretna

Meet Gabe Gretna from Bonibleaux Designs, one of the new residents of Dude Time Doodles being released today. I am undecided if Gabe has an anger management problem or if he just likes to show off his tonsils.

To welcome the new town-folks to the Dude Time Doodles neighborhood, the Dude and the Dudettes are having a blog hop and we are also greeting CG as a full-fledged Dudette! Hopefully, you have arrived from Kevin's blog, our one and only Dude, King of the Fishnet, but if not, continue along and you will see them all since it's a loop. Be sure to leave love at each stop to put you in a position to be the recipient of a Dude Time Doodles image of your choice from this month's mystery host. Your next stop is to visit Ginny our Dudette down under in Australia. Enjoy the trip!

Mix and Match

I decided to mix and match some designer paper to create this card. Although I have Christmas paper that would look great, I used my favorite, polkadots. One could reason that I didn't stray outside of the box. On the other hand, I like my box!

Upside Down Snowman

Another Monday, means another new challenge at Squigglefly. This time, Marlene has challenged her Marvels to create a Winter Scene, snow, ice, sporting event or someone freezing their butt off, something that will make us shiver. I don't know if the Upside Down Snowman by Marlene will make you shiver, but the thought of a dog lifting its leg on the snowman's face does more than make me shiver, it makes me shudder!

Romeo and Juliet Snowmen

I always have to visit Sassy Cheryl's for digi images for the holidays. During a recent sale, I grabbed several. Romeo and Juliet Snowmen was the first image to jump in my shopping cart. Who knew that snowmen could jump as well as climb ladders?

Snowflake Trees

I woke up about 2 o'clock in the morning with a design buzzing around the grey matter. This is not usual and it does go hand in hand with being obsessed with making cards. But usually, by the time I wake up several hours later, all memory of the idea is gone. My subconscious must have thought the concept was worthwhile keeping and I remember I wanted to make snowflake trees. With little effort and some mixing and matching, mission accomplished.

Fairy Grand-ma

Since Thanksgiving was yesterday, Christmas shopping and decorating has now officially begun, not to mention that Christmas is exactly one month from today. As a mother of five children and "glam-ma" to five grandchildren, I struggle with what to give each one for Christmas. This year, I have decided to do exactly what Fairy Grand-ma from Just Inklined has done. I'm going to wrap myself in a pretty box, tie it with a ribbon and wait patiently under their trees for Christmas morning! Won't they all be surprised! Now to figure out the logistics of being in many places at once and to find my tutu, fairy wings and wand?

Never Give Up

Never Give Up is my inspiration for this week's new challenge that starts today at Digi Doodle Shop, "Animals". The image was very much in my mind all day as I struggled to make two cherry pies for my family. After about four hours of fierce endeavor, mission accomplished. I cannot tell you how many times I repeated under my breath, I HATE to cook!  If I had my drudgers, I'd rather move a donkey!

Please visit my teammates blogs to see their inspirations and then its your turn to play along, you might win the $10 gift certificate from Digi Doodle Shop

If you're busy preparing Thanksgiving dinner, I feel sorry for you but whatever the case may be, enjoy the day and if you live in the United States, have a wonderful Thanksgiving and watch out for the crowds on Black Friday!

Happy Birthday to You

Today is the birthday of one of my favorite online and in person friends, Marlene! I know her most-liked color is purple and I also am aware that she loves You Deserve the Moon since she drew it!  So dear friend, here's to you, Happy Birthday!

Mouseltoe

Since it's Monday, a new challenge starts today at Squigglefly. Inspiration and enticement for the "Etch-my-sketch" challenge is provided by Heather's Headliners, my team! I used Diane Carubia's cute image Mouseltoe available at Squigglefly. Actually, the thought of a mouse offering a cat some mistletoe is awesome in theory BUT, mistletoe is poisonous! Not so nice for pussycat.

Head to Squigglefly for the sketch and the details to enter the challenge. And make sure you also visit the rest of my teammates for more inspiration.

Indian and Squaw

As Thanksgiving draws near, Indian and Squaw of the body tot series from Digi Doodle Shop begin their journey to the homes of friends and relatives for the great feast and a whole lot of football. Indian is carrying his bow and arrow in case a wandering turkey crosses his path, while Squaw is carrying a large container of firewater should Indian get thirsty on their journey. The crossed arrows on Indian's breechcloth is the symbol of friendship, so there is no need for alarm should you happen to meet them unless of course, you are a turkey or dressed as a turkey!

Christmas Trees

Christmas can be very stressful but if you start with beautiful cardstock such as Spirit Red Feltweave from the PaperTempress as background and pair it with Royal Emerald Green cardstock embossed with white trees, you can mass produce beautiful Christmas cards quickly. A touch of 5/16 Decadent Dancer Ribbon and a few shining stars for embellishment add the perfect finishing touch.

Turkey Strike

I wish I could say I love this time of year but I don't. First of all, there is nothing about the cold that I like and secondly, I hate being cold. With that said, I have also grown weary of seeing turkeys such as Turkey Strike by Just Inklined standing on corners carrying their placards urging those passing by to boycott Thanksgiving dinner!  After all, most intersections are dangerous and a turkey waving a sign could cause an accident or worse, they could get run over by a car driven by an irresponsible person texting while driving!

Christmas Penguin

Today starts a new challenge at Digi Doodle Shop and you are invited to play along for a chance to win a $10.00 gift certificate to the store. The challenge is to use red and green in your creation. I used the shy Christmas Penguin reaching out with Christmas wishes in hopes of receiving a fish or two in return!

Be sure to visit my Digi Doodle Shop teammates to see their fantastic creations and then play along using red and green!

Bountiful Blessings

It is difficult for me to wrap my head around the idea that this time next week womankind across our great states will be chasing a turkey around the kitchen trying to get it ready to be popped into the oven for the next day's Thanksgiving feast! I am very fortunate that when my children became old enough and realized I was a terrible cook, I was discharged from kitchen duties during the holidays, one more reason to be thankful!

Because of the impending holiday, it should be no surprise to know that the new inspiration challenge that starts today at Dude Time Doodles is "Goggle 'Til You Wobble - Happy Thanksgiving" and happily, we are being sponsored by Graphicat Designs. I used Bountiful Blessings from Bonibleaux Designs, a cute turkey disguised as a pilgrim advocating ham!  Be sure to visit the Dude and Dudettes for more inspiration and then visit Dude Time Doodles for all the details so you can play along and win a Sushi sentiment set Graphicat Designs

Birthday Bike

I couldn't resist this paper, I thought it was so pretty. Lucky for me that I had a bicycle stamp to use.

Big Present

It's that time of year when presents come to mind, not presence of mind, that doesn't return until your Christmas shopping is done and the presents are wrapped!  Because I I like my gifts in big packages, I used Big Present by Suzanne Urban available at Squigglefly for the new challenge that starts today at Squigglefly.  Since it's almost Marlene's birthday she has asked all of the Marvels to create a birthday card so she can pretend that the card is for her, whether it is for a woman, man, child or even a pet! This challenge is easy since we always need birthday cards so you have no excuse not to participate and take a chance on being a winner.

Just thought I might share a happy mistake. When I was done coloring Big Present, I drop my copic pen and it landed on the image. Can you guess where? If you guessed that the marker fell where the feather is, you are correct! Lucky save!

In a day's time

We receive more blessings in a day's time than there are leaves on a tree. For each and everyone of those blessings, I am thankful!

Chick to Chick

Sunday, October 2 was World Farm Animals Day and to celebrate, Paulette from Create with TLC had the funny sentiment that I used as a freebie in its honor. Since my daughter always told me that when it was time for "our" dance at her wedding, we would do the chicken dance.

Fat Snowman

In my opinion, Fat Snowman by Just Inklined is a perfect example of what a snowman should be, nice and plump! Think about it, if are willing to dress in ten layers of clothes and get soaking wet while freezing your buns to construct a lawn ornament, you might as well go ahead and put together a snowman that is as big and fat as possible. By doing so, when every snowman in the neighborhood has melted, you will still be able to admire your creation. In the alternative, you could purchase a garden gnome that would adorn your yard year round!

Aunt Venie

I'd like to introduce you to Digi Doodle Shop's Aunt Venie, one of the members of the Body Tots' series. Aunt Venie is an absolute sweetheart but she cannot cook so she is somewhat flummoxed that her entire clan is planning to visit in time for Thanksgiving dinner! Because of her limited cooking abilities, Aunt Venie has ordered take out and now she is searching her pockets for loose change to pay for the meal.

Aunt Venie is my inspiration for the sketch challenge that starts today at Digi Doodle Shop. Please visit Digi Doodle Shop for the sketch and details about entering the challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to their store

Duck Snowball Warrior

On the second Wednesday of each month, Dude Time Doodles, through the courtesy of Bonibleaux Designs, offers a new freebie and this month is no different. Let me introduce you to Duck Snowball Warrior, champion of all snowmen who receive countless blows of squished particles of frozen condensed rain! Through the magic of digis, I flipped the image. While it may look to you that they are ready to face off with each other, that in fact is not true. They both stand ready to protect and defend in the event someone wishes to take aim! Hurry over to Dude Time Doodles for more details about entering the challenge to become a guest designer and grab Duck Snowball Warrior!

Vegetable Cart

The Digi Doodle Shop is sponsoring the challenge that starts today at Frosted Designs and I am very pleased to represent Digi Doodle Shop as a guest designer. The challenge is a sketch and for my inspiration I used Digi Doodles Shop's Vegetable Cart. Please visit Frosted Designs for all the details and then please play along!

Autumn Wind

It is Heather's Headliners week to inspire you to join the new Squigglefly challenge that starts today, No Patterned Paper!  For my card I used Autumn Wind by one of Squigglefly's new artists, Rachel Goble. So come on, the only way you can win is to join the fun and enter the challenge!

Dusty Rabbit Christmas Prezzie

Welcome to Just Inklined's blog hop for November. If you've arrived from the blog of the ever so talented Jak, you have come to your next stop.  Our host for the event is the inspiring Heidy who thought it would be fun to create around something to give for Christmas. My decision to use the comical Dusty Rabbit Christmas Prezzie was simple since I give carrots to my K-9 friends each year, the easiest item on my list to shop for. To continue the hop, you next visit Toni to see what is sure to be sensational.  Please remember to leave each member of the team a comment since one of us is the mystery host and your comment might make you the winner.

Always give thanks

I always seem to run out of thank you cards. Either people are too good to me, or I don't make as many thank you cards as I think I do. On the other hand, it could be that I happened to like this particular designer paper and its unusual color combo and needed an excuse to add it to my "collection"! At least I cut it!

Autumn Bear

Autumn Bear from Sassy Cheryl's and I am of the opinion that she is pleading for more summer!

Snowman and Friends

Thousands of residents of the north had a nasty blast from Mother Nature Saturday when a nor'easter swept up the cost dumping heavy wet snow along the way.  Because the trees are just beginning to turn colors and drop their leaves, the additional weight from the heavy snow caused trees to snap and fall onto power lines knocking out power. There are still areas without electricity. I am fortunate that I skated through with electricity intact, but many of my friends and family were without. Because of the early snowfall, it wasn't hard to find inspiration for the "winter" challenge starting today at Digi Doodle Shop!  I used Snowman and Friends, and I've got to tell you, as much fun as it was coloring the image, it was difficult keeping the bird feeder filled!

I am very passionate about animals so it is such a pleasure to be working with the folks at Digi Doodle Shop who share the same philosophy. During November animal stamps are on sale for 25% off. If you spend $7.00 you get two delightful free images and $2.00 will go to Pet Pardons, an organization helping displaced pets on death row find a place in a no-kill shelter or a forever home. So please join us, not only in the Digi Doodle Shop challenge but also in helping our four-legged friends. And be sure to visit the rest of the design team for more inspiration for "winter"!

Who brought the broccoli

Since today is the first Wednesday in November, it's time for a new challenge at Dude Time Doodles. This month the challenge is to create something for November's Special Days, World Hello Day on November 21, Thanksgiving on November 24 or Stay @ Home Because you are Well Day on November 30.

I used Who Brought the Broccoli from Bonibleaux Designs since attending or watching football seems to be the favorite pastime on Thanksgiving Day. Be sure to visit the Dude and the Dudettes for more inspiration and then please join us for the challenge!

Simple and chic

Today's card was easy to create but the results are elegant. I used an embossing folder on Bluestone Classic Linen from the Paper Temptress.  Next I used silver embossing powder on smaller pieces of the cardstock and edged them with distress ink for dimension. Lastly, for a touch of bling I added silver balls. Simple and chic!
