A Little Dusting

We received a little dusting of snow and low and behold, I looked out my window and what do I see, certainly not what I expected! There stood Merry Christmas from Just Inklined obviously getting a head start celebrating the New Year! I hope we don't get a warm spell, I'd hate for this cute couple to miss the real deal.

Thank You Santa!

If you read my post yesterday, you know Santa gave me the stamp I used for that card and the same tutorial for today's cards. I must say I'm in love with the image! But I think I used too much bling.

Time for Thank You Notes

Because I received so many wonderful gifts for Christmas, looks like I am going to deplete my stash of thank you notes. To replenish my supply, I used the new Hero Arts Large Flower Background stamp that Santa brought me after he watched the tutorial featuring its use. To make this card all you need is embossing powder, alcohol inks and clean fingers!

Santa Christmas

Santa Christmas is from Karen's Doodles, and I know we are all weary of Christmas cards but we have a problem Houston! I have it on excellent authority that when Santa got home after delivering all the presents, he had leftovers in his sleigh.  So now, he's checking his list again and again trying to find which little good girl or boy didn't get what they asked for. Once he finds his mistake, he will ship that gift to the Easter Bunny for delivery in the spring!

Christmas Seat

This sweet Christmas Seat pup from Just Inklined pretty much sums up the way we are feeling at my house the day after Christmas! I hope you have more get-up and go!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Wishing you and your's Christmas blessings and much joy!

Santa and Santa Dog

I wish I could take credit for this sweet Santa card but I cannot. I saw the tutorial over at The Creative Closet and I had to give it a try. The hardest part of making this card is probably cutting the white Laser Silk Lustre after embossing it. For the base of the card I used Red Crepe Ruche. The leaves were cut from Basic 80# Green cardstock and the holly berries are Red Laser Glossy Lustre. For the face and its elements I used scraps otherwise, all the cardstock is from the PaperTemptress. I hope Santa's face adds a touch of merriness to your holiday!
My Christmas would not be the same without a Golden Retriever or two dashing through the snow, or in our case, rain!!  Santa Dog is from Karen's Doodles
And now just let me say, Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!

Robin on a Post Box

Just Inklined has many beautiful images and although Robin on a Post Box is not necessarily a Christmas image, it does speak to most of us that work feverishly to get cards made or purchased, addressed, stamped and mailed! I plan on sending this card to Santa as a thank you note for all the goodies I know he's going to bring me!

Play Ball

We had a new experience at my house. Xena, my beautiful golden puppy-mill breeder dog, got hold of my favorite Christmas shirt and tore holes in it, sniff-sniff. I'm guessing that she doesn't like Christmas! Seems that Play Ball from the Digi Doodle Shop's Ragga Mutts Series doesn't like Christmas either! Ragga Mutts is my inspiration for you to enter the new challenge that starts today at Digi Doodle Shop, Anything Goes. Because of the holidays, you have two weeks to enter and maybe you will be the winner of a $10.00 gift certificate to the store. And don't forget, everything in the store is 25% off during December.

Harold Ho Ho Zzzz

Welcome to Dude Time Doodles' Inspirational Challenge that starts today. The Dude and the Dudettes wish to see what is your favorite Christmas movie. Truthfully, I cannot say I have a favorite Christmas movie but when I saw the big schnozzola Harold Ho Ho Zzzz by Bonibleaux Designs, sported, it registered in my mind as red, just like Rudolph's.

For more Christmas cinema inspiration, be sure to stop by and visit the Dude and the Dudettes at their blogs. For a special treat visit Dude Time Doodles for fun facts about Yuletide viewing.

Merry Christ-Moose

It is a very little known fact, so little in fact that I am probably the only one in the entire universe that is aware that before Santa considered reindeers to guide his sleigh, he contemplated the moose. Because of their size he thought they would be more proficient at pulling a sleigh full of toys, cars, flat screen televisions and all the other goodies we ask for. Santa called upon the elves that make up his research and development team to undertake a study and determine if the moose would be suitable for the task. After months of testing and many more months analyzing the data, the elves determined that moose were not acceptable for two reasons. First, because they are solitary animals, they do not form herds so being harnessed to a fellow moose would more likely result in fighting than teamwork. Secondly, and probably most importantly, the size, thickness and shape of their antlers does not support the aerodynamics necessary for flight. In the written pronouncement the elves prepared for Santa, they further stated that in their opinion moose are more suitable for spreading Christmas cheer such as Merry Christmoose from Bugaboo, rather than pulling a sleigh!

Shy Bear Waiting for Christmas

Shy Bear Waiting for Christmas is by Squigglefly's artist Lynne Stansbery and the image pretty much sums up all the anxieties I am feeling when I lay my head down on my pillow to go to sleep. Is Santa going to visit me? Did he get my letter? Did I put a stamp on the letter? Should I send him an email in case he didn't get my letter? If he did get my letter, will he bring all that I ask for? I know I've been good. In fact, I've been so good, I should be at the very top of Santa's good little girl list! If I'm not on the top of his good little girl list, where can I file an appeal?

Rudolph's Nose

When will Santa's reindeer get over themselves and stop being jealous of Rudolph's shining nose? This time they went to far! While Rudolph was sleeping, they unscrewed his nose just enough that when he got up in the morning, his nose fell off. I hope Santa can reattach it before Christmas Eve because without Rudolph, a full moon or a GPS, Santa may not be able to make his trip!

Blue Star and Snowflakes

I think this is my most favorite Christmas card that I
created this year.

Just Inklined's Golden Retriever and Digital Scrapbooking Top Dogs Backgrounds Blue

I absolutely love, love Just Inklined's recently released Golden Retriever! The image absolutely makes my heart smile and now that its finished, I love it even more! For the background I used paper from the Digital Scrapbooking Top Dogs Backgrounds Blue packet that contains an assortment of ten different papers from Just Inklined to complete the card. At the moment the card is inside its enveloped attached to a Christmas present that contains the entire "Thin Man" series waiting to be opened and enjoyed on Christmas morning. I know the recipient of the card and the DVD is going to be thrilled because the recipient is ME!!! But please don't tell ME, I want to be surprised!

Special Delivery

Time to begin a new Digi Doodle Shop challenge and to enter you must incorporate paper piercing on your creation. In other words, you need to include holes in your work of art. For my card I used Special Delivery from Digi Doodle Shop and paper pierced the corners.  Please stop and visit my fellow Digi Doodle Shop teammates and in case you have a little leftover jingle in your pockets after Christmas shopping, remember that everything in the Digi Doodle Shop Store is 25% off during December.

Cheap Valentine

You might think that this card was sent by a Cheap Valentine but that is not the case. Hear tell that the Eagles are so far behind this season that they are wining and dining a few women trying to entice them to join the team! Well I've got news for them, we don't wished to be wined and dined, and flowers and chocolates simply won't do. We want to sail to the Bahamas aboard a perfectly appointed yacht and after that, we MIGHT play ball!

Cheap Valentine has been created by the one and only Marlene and is available at Bonibleaux Designs

Blue and White Christmas

I love the stamp I used today and with a few watermarked snowflakes on the background, a touch of ribbon and a little bling, the result is classic!

Interesting snowflake fact: According to the Guinness Book of World Records,  in 1887  the largest snowflake fell in Fort Keogh, Montana measuring 15 inches wide and 8 inches thick! Can you imagine being out and about during that snowstorm?

This one is mine!

Today starts a new challenge at Squigglefly and Marlene asked her team to make a "clean and simple holiday theme" card for their last challenge. It doesn't matter which of the upcoming holidays you create a card for, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or New Year's just clean and simple!

To play along, I used This One is Mine by Lynne Stansbery, available at Squigglefly. I love the look on this pussycat's face, it definitely says, "this one is mine"!

Awe of the Star

Awe of the Star is from Sassy Cheryl's and after seeing Santa and the Snowman on a dark winter's night looking at one particular star, I'd like to bring a serious concern of mine to your attention and perhaps you might be able to waylay my fears.  As we all know, Santa always makes his trips around the world to visit the homes of good little boys and girls every Christmas Eve. And we all know that Santa has the assistance of Rudolph and his red nose to help guide his way as well as the light of a full moon for navigation. This year, December 24 brings us a new moon which translates to no moon! So my question that needs your immediate attention, is Rudolph's nose so bright that he will be able to guide the sleigh that night or should we quickly chip in and buy Santa a GPS. Does Amazon deliver to the North Pole?

Brown Christmas

I love craft paper even though I don't use it very often. Oh who am I kidding, I love all paper!

Hanging the Stockings

More often than not, less is more and my card today is a great example. I was so pleased with Hanging the Stockings from Just Inklined when I finished coloring the image. I don't know why I thought that crackle accents would give it just the right touch. Wrong decision! I've successfully used the medium before and never had a problem but this time, it caused the red and gray to bleed. To top it off, apparently the gold ink pad that I used was too old so after a few minutes what was gold turn black, resulting in the appearance of smoke filling the room where the fireplace is located. Oh well, what is done is done and cannot be undone and all we can do is learn from our mistakes. Makes me nuts since I haven't made a mistake since 1954 or was it 1953!

Christmas Church

This serene image, Christmas Church, is from Digi Doodle Shop. I used it for their new challenge that starts today, Nature. Who isn't enchanted by a beautiful winter scene?

Snow to many of us is not the kind of nature we are fond of, except maybe in pictures, or in childhood memories of riding to grandma's house in an open sleigh (did anyone ever do that). Nevertheless, it's still that time of year when frozen water vapors form ice crystals, falls to the ground and wreak havoc, especially for those caught without the essentials, bread, milk and toilet paper!  Well, that's what the weatherman tells us we need!

Please stop by the blogs of my Digi Doodle Shop' teammates and see their wonderful creations. And for sure, you need to stop by the Digi Doodle Shop since everything is 25% off during the month of December. Go ahead, treat yourself and then play along in our challenge and you may be the winner of a $10.00 gift certificate to Digi Doodle Shop

Santa Balls

Today starts December's First Wednesday challenge at Dude Time Doodles. The object to this challenge is to show your holiday spirit! I used Bonibleaux Designs' Santa Balls by Marlene because I felt sorry for the poor guy. Seems his holiday spirit is low, or perhaps he's taken too much of the liquid form of spirits and that's why he's carrying a candy cane to disguise the odor!

We are really excited to say that Glitterbabe's Digis is sponsoring this challenge. The winner will receive two images from her store, but if you use a Glitterbabe Digi image and you win, you get three images!

Hope you'll take the time to visit my teammates and see their awesome creations!

Christmas Stress

The holiday season means stress but we all know that creating helps relieve it. Start with Heavenly White cardstock from the PaperTemptress and apply different colors of alcohol distress ink, perfect pearls, white embossing powder on a pretty image and top it off with a sentiment and sparkle, not only is your stress relieved but you have another pretty Christmas card ready to be mailed.

Glad Tidings and Good Beer

Monday means a new challenge at Squigglefly and this time its Heather's Headliners' turn to provide inspiration based on a song. It could be a song's lyrics, rock, pop or disco. If you are inspired by Happy Birthday so be it, any song that inspires you to join the fun at Squigglefly's challenge and maybe being the winner is all that is required. So, did you guess that In Heaven There Ain't No Beer lead me use Susanne Urban's image, Glad Tidings and Good Beer?

Just Inklined December's Blog Hop - Blue Christmas

Welcome to Just Inklined's blog hop for December! I'm sure you've already been dazzled by the awesome talents of Just inklined's design team and that you've been inspired at each stop. If you are following the hop, you should have arrived after seeing the brilliance of Jak's creation. Our hostess this month is the ever-so-talented Jeni and her theme is Blue Christmas. With the exception of a silver wreath and a couple of holly leaves that I thought Santa would appreciate but are not included in Santa's Sleigh, I did manage to keep it to a blue and white Christmas. Your next stop is to visit Toni to see her exceptional creation. While you're hopping, remember to leave a comment along the way to win an image from this month's Mystery Hostess!

The Simplest of Gifts

The Simplest of Gifts from Sassy Cheryl's is an image I purchased last year and never finished coloring. I don't remember why this sweet image went unfinished because it truly reflects the sum total of Christmas . . . giving.

Bloodhound Christmas

Go ahead, tell me I'm obsessed about dogs, I know it and I'm proud of it! But this time it's not my fault. Dude Time Doodles decided to have a freebie today and I had the fun job of coloring Bloodhound Christmas especially for the occasion. If you like Bloodhound Christmas hurry over to Dude Time Doodles and grab it. Don't be tardy because the image will only be available for a limited time before it is whisked into their store

St. Bernard with Barrel

I cannot help myself when it comes to dogs and anyone and everyone that knows me is also aware of my love for them including images of them. St. Bernard with Barrel from Just Inklined definitely made my heart smile, almost as big as their weight which averages between 140 to 264 pounds, that's a lot of puppy love! And to make my heart smile even bigger, Just Inklined's new release includes 17 breeds of dogs! Each image absolutely captures the essence of their breed. To name a few there is a Pug, Jack Russell, German Shepard, Boxer, the Labrador and the Golden Retriever, but if you are a true lover of our K-9 friends, you should see them all. And if you are wondering, yes, I absolutely did get the Golden Retriever and it is waiting to be colored. Be still my heart!

Angel 2

Time for a new challenge at Digi Doodle Shop. Although you cannot tell by looking at my card, the challenge is "lots of sparkle". For whatever reason, my camera likes sparkle and forgets to share regardless what I do to make it do otherwise but trust me, there is sparkle on the beautiful Angel 2 from Digi Doodle Shop.

To see more inspiration, please stop by each member of the Digi Doodle Shop's design team and then gather your sparkle and show us what you've got. As always, there is a $10 gift certificate to Digi Doodle Shop for the winner. And be sure to stop by the store and see the wonderful new images being released today and take advantage of the 25% off everything sale during the month of December!
