Traveling back and forth to Missouri each summer as a child, there was little to do during the long ride except play zip (counting horses), reading comic books, or annoying my brother which apparently I did constantly! I do remember seeing lots of barns that were painted by companies to entice passerby's to use their products and which also benefited the farmer by getting their barn painted. The thought of those painted barns brings me to the new challenge that starts today at Can You Digi It, "Painted Memories". For my card I attempted to replicate the side of a barn and then I used Hen Pecked for my sign. The sentiment that goes around the forlorn chicken says, "Henpecked (adj) - inclined to submit to the wishes of others." If you enter the challenge and win, you will receive a $10 gift certificate to the Can You Digi It store. For more inspiration, please visit the other "IT" girls!

ReplyDeleteI used to live in Missouri Tammy! Too bad we couldn't have met along the way. I too would be stuck in the car for long trips to visit relatives in Kentucky. We would play the alphabet game, read, sing, and on one memorable occasion my sister and I wrote a note saying "help! we've been kidnapped!" and held it up to the windows for passing motorists to see. Ah, memories!
ReplyDeleteI love your card. The chicken is too cute and your wood slats are great!
