Inspiration

I seldom do cards of flowers. But I could not resist the beauty of Just Inklined's image of a poppy. At the time, my poppies were not blooming. But since I colored this card, my poppies are in full bloom, at least they were until we had a horrible, intense thunderstorm that damaged them and knocked out the electricity for 16 hours. Here is a picture I took a couple hours before the storm.

  7. Love the poppy in your garden and the card, too! I was reading about the history of Memorial Day and saw that the poppy is linked to Memorial Day because of a poem so your card is VERY appropriate for the occasion. Here's the poem:

"In 1915, inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields," Moina Michael replied with her own poem:

We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies."
