Bath Time Deirdery

The late Erma Bombeck once stated that her children perceived the bathroom as a place where you wait until all the groceries are carried in from the car! Bath Time Deirdery, the newest image from Doctor Digi's House of Stamps to be released, is not only anticipating that the groceries will be brought in and put away while she relaxes in a hot bubble bath, but she also expects and is prepared to continue to linger as long as necessary until the house is dusted, vacuumed, the silver is polished, the trash has been put out and a large pitcher of extra-dry martinis are made ready for her to enjoy!

Beach Babe

It's Holley's Hobbyists turn to be your host for the new challenge that starts today at Squigglefly and the challenge is Speak to Me, use a sentiment. I used Fawn Palmer's adorable Beach Babe, available at Squigglefly for my card. I love this little gal, she reminds me of each of my daughters when they were little. Come and play along in this week's challenge, everyone is welcome but to be selected the winner, you much use a Squigglefly image, but if you don't have a Squigglefly image, try using one of their many freebies.

BBQ Bill

We've come a long way since the beginning of time when cavemen first roamed the earth beating their chests in search of food and lodging. Since that time, we've upgraded from caves to homes with wooden floors, central heating and air conditioning, indoor plumbing and stoves that turned on with the turn of a knob. We must no longer wander the earth looking for food, all that is required now is a cell phone or computer to download a map to your favorite restaurant. But as much progress that has been made, men still like to stand before an open fire and cook their food as my friend, BBQ Bill, from Doctor Digi's House of Stamps persists in doing just like his Neanderthal comrades!

Thinking of You

I made today's card after watching one of the videos from Stretch Your Stamps, an online class. The butterflies were first stamped on small squares of Cryogen White Iridescent cardstock I had colored and distressed then mounted on a square cut from the center of Bronze Mica/Metallic cardstock, the card base. Next, after enlarging the square on the card base, I attached a scrap of clear acetate to the back and mounted both pieces on distressed Laser Silver Luster. The sentiment was embossed using gold power and I added some gold bling. An easy card to make especially if you have square dies to help with the cutting of the cardstock and you are using beautiful cardstock from the PaperTemptress

Pierre Painter

Welcome to Dude Time Doodles' New Release Blog Hop, when the Dude and the Dudettes form a circle and introduce you to the newest images from Bonibleaux Designs! I am showcasing Pierre Painter a gifted graffiti artist who got his start early in life by smearing his mommy's lipstick on every wall in the house. Unfortunately for Pierre Painter, he has not sold any of his work but he has racked up fines and costs in the thousands for damaging public property!

If you are following the hop order, you arrived here from Sharon's blog and you have reached the end of the hop. But if you're just starting, head over to Dude Time Doodles, to start the hop. Be sure to leave comments at each of the stops for a chance to win a free Dude Time Doodles image from the mystery host.

Fancy

Meet the beautiful Fancy, a freebie that Krista of Saturated Canary fame has on her blog! No matter what tricks I try, my camera does not like sparkle and shine!

Buried Treasure

Monday means a new challenge at Squigglefly and this week Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals rolls out a new challenge to use Paper Piercing. Even though I am not on Rhonda's team, I decided to play along using Lynne Stansbery's precious Buried Treasure image and sentiment from Squigglefly. I only pierced the bottom of the image because truthfully, I didn't want the water from the ocean to leak out onto my card!  I hope you can find time this week to see what Ronda's Rowdy Rascals have created and to join Squigglefly's challenge, you could be the next winner!

Hole in One Hal

At the first sign of nice weather thousands of men head to the links leaving behind wives and sweethearts to cut the grass and wash cars while they bat around little white balls into holes in the ground.  Because Saturdays and Sundays are high traffic days at the golf course, it is fitting and appropriate that I share with you Hole in One Hal from Doctor Digis House of Stamps today! Hal is not the least bit concerned that his ball is in a sand trap or that when he takes his very best shot, his ball will likely land in water. Nope, Hal cheats, so he'll casually pick up his ball and drop it in the cup!  Hal's only concerned about getting to the 19th hole where cold beer is served by pretty young waitresses scantly clothed and his wife is home mowing the grass!

Burlesque

My card today features Burlesque from Just Inklined. I suppose I could have used a happy birthday sentiment  to send good wishes to the recipient but the one I used was more fun. I decided I better check the trusty dictionary for the definition of vintage since I do not wish to offend any of my friends. What an awakening! The first definition states that it is the year or place in which wine, especially wine of high quality, was produced! The second definition states it is a wine of high quality made from the crop of a single identified district in a good year! Who knew?

A Glass of Wine

I know it is too early in the day to be thinking about having a glass of wine. No? How about even though it is early in the day, go ahead and have a glass of wine!

A Glass of Wine from the Digi Doodle Shop is my inspiration for the new Anything Goes Challenge that starts today at the Digi Doodle Shop Challenge led by Team Ruth. Fanny Beach

Fanny Beach from Bonibleaux Designs could not persuade anyone to send her on a lovely Caribbean cruise so she must settle on a staycation in her backyard. She starts each day by filling up the kiddie pool she borrowed from her neighbors while they are vacationing in Alaska.  Being the good neighbor that Fanny is and to prevent damage to the water pipes from lack of use, Fanny helps herself to their water to fill the pool and water her plants. Once the pool is filled, Fanny sets about making a tasty pitcher of lemonade to be enjoyed poolside. Fanny's recipe for lemonade is one cup lemon juice, don't bother with fresh squeezed, bottled juice is perfect, add two cups of cold water, a little sugar to taste, and a bottle of gin. Fanny prefers vodka in her lemonade but those inconsiderate neighbors only have gin!

Fanny in all her glory is trying to entice you into joining the Anything Goes for a Dude Challenge that starts today at Dude Time Doodles. We are very pleased to have The Ribbon Carousel as this week's sponsor who will provide a $10 gift certificate to the winner! So have some fun, life's too short not to be silly!

Fashion Service Magazine, May 1927

Today's card features an image that was scanned from Fashion Service Magazine, May 1927, which I'm sure featured the latest trends of the day. The scanned picture is one of many images available at Digital Two for Tuesday taken from publications of days and years gone by. For a fun look back in time and to see more of what women wore in 1927 visit Dressmaking Research, 1927.
