Bath Time Deirdery

The late Erma Bombeck once stated that her children perceived the bathroom as a place where you wait until all the groceries are carried in from the car! Bath Time Deirdery, the newest image from Doctor Digi's House of Stamps to be released, is not only anticipating that the groceries will be brought in and put away while she relaxes in a hot bubble bath, but she also expects and is prepared to continue to linger as long as necessary until the house is dusted, vacuumed, the silver is polished, the trash has been put out and a large pitcher of extra-dry martinis are made ready for her to enjoy!

Beach Babe

It's Holley's Hobbyists turn to be your host for the new challenge that starts today at Squigglefly and the challenge is Speak to Me, use a sentiment. I used Fawn Palmer's adorable Beach Babe, available at Squigglefly for my card. I love this little gal, she reminds me of each of my daughters when they were little. Come and play along in this week's challenge, everyone is welcome but to be selected the winner, you much use a Squigglefly image, but if you don't have a Squigglefly image, try using one of their many freebies.

BBQ Bill

We've come a long way since the beginning of time when cavemen first roamed the earth beating their chests in search of food and lodging. Since that time, we've upgraded from caves to homes with wooden floors, central heating and air conditioning, indoor plumbing and stoves that turned on with the turn of a knob. We must no longer wander the earth looking for food, all that is required now is a cell phone or computer to download a map to your favorite restaurant. But as much progress that has been made, men still like to stand before an open fire and cook their food as my friend, BBQ Bill, from Doctor Digi's House of Stamps persists in doing just like his Neanderthal comrades!

Feeling Tyred

Sometimes we just need to send a smile. Feeling Tyred from Just Inklined is the perfect fellow for the job!  Besides, he doesn't have anything else to do!

Thinking of You

I made today's card after watching one of the videos from Stretch Your Stamps, an online class. The butterflies were first stamped on small squares of Cryogen White Iridescent cardstock I had colored and distressed then mounted on a square cut from the center of Bronze Mica/Metallic cardstock, the card base. Next, after enlarging the square on the card base, I attached a scrap of clear acetate to the back and mounted both pieces on distressed Laser Silver Luster. The sentiment was embossed using gold power and I added some gold bling. An easy card to make especially if you have square dies to help with the cutting of the cardstock and you are using beautiful cardstock from the PaperTemptress

Pierre Painter

Welcome to Dude Time Doodles' New Release Blog Hop, when the Dude and the Dudettes form a circle and introduce you to the newest images from Bonibleaux Designs! I am showcasing Pierre Painter a gifted graffiti artist who got his start early in life by smearing his mommy's lipstick on every wall in the house. Unfortunately for Pierre Painter, he has not sold any of his work but he has racked up fines and costs in the thousands for damaging public property!

If you are following the hop order, you arrived here from Sharon's blog and you have reached the end of the hop. But if you're just starting, head over to Dude Time Doodles, to start the hop. Be sure to leave comments at each of the stops for a chance to win a free Dude Time Doodles image from the mystery host.

Fancy

Meet the beautiful Fancy, a freebie that Krista of Saturated Canary fame has on her blog! No matter what tricks I try, my camera does not like sparkle and shine!

Buried Treasure

Monday means a new challenge at Squigglefly and this week Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals rolls out a new challenge to use Paper Piercing. Even though I am not on Rhonda's team, I decided to play along using Lynne Stansbery's precious Buried Treasure image and sentiment from Squigglefly. I only pierced the bottom of the image because truthfully, I didn't want the water from the ocean to leak out onto my card!  I hope you can find time this week to see what Ronda's Rowdy Rascals have created and to join Squigglefly's challenge, you could be the next winner!

Hole in One Hal

At the first sign of nice weather thousands of men head to the links leaving behind wives and sweethearts to cut the grass and wash cars while they bat around little white balls into holes in the ground.  Because Saturdays and Sundays are high traffic days at the golf course, it is fitting and appropriate that I share with you Hole in One Hal from Doctor Digis House of Stamps today! Hal is not the least bit concerned that his ball is in a sand trap or that when he takes his very best shot, his ball will likely land in water. Nope, Hal cheats, so he'll casually pick up his ball and drop it in the cup!  Hal's only concerned about getting to the 19th hole where cold beer is served by pretty young waitresses scantly clothed and his wife is home mowing the grass!

Burlesque

My card today features Burlesque from Just Inklined. I suppose I could have used a happy birthday sentiment  to send good wishes to the recipient but the one I used was more fun. I decided I better check the trusty dictionary for the definition of vintage since I do not wish to offend any of my friends. What an awakening! The first definition states that it is the year or place in which wine, especially wine of high quality, was produced! The second definition states it is a wine of high quality made from the crop of a single identified district in a good year! Who knew?

A Glass of Wine

I know it is too early in the day to be thinking about having a glass of wine. No? Okay, let me rephrase the statement, I know for most of us it is too early in the day to be thinking about a glass of wine.  Still not happy? How about even though it is early in the day, go ahead and have a glass of wine!

A Glass of Wine from the Digi Doodle Shop is my inspiration for the new Anything Goes Challenge that starts today at the Digi Doodle Shop Challenge led by Team Ruth. You cannot get an easier challenge than Anything Goes so give it a try and you might win a $10.00 gift certificate to the Digi Doodle Shop! Okay, now have your glass of wine!

Fanny Beach

Fanny Beach from Bonibleaux Designs could not persuade anyone to send her on a lovely Caribbean cruise so she must settle on a staycation in her backyard. She starts each day by filling up the kiddie pool she borrowed from her neighbors while they are vacationing in Alaska.  Being the good neighbor that Fanny is and to prevent damage to the water pipes from lack of use, Fanny helps herself to their water to fill the pool and water her plants. Once the pool is filled, Fanny sets about making a tasty pitcher of lemonade to be enjoyed poolside. Fanny's recipe for lemonade is one cup lemon juice, don't bother with fresh squeezed, bottled juice is perfect, add two cups of cold water, a little sugar to taste, and a bottle of gin. Fanny prefers vodka in her lemonade but those inconsiderate neighbors only have gin!

Fanny in all her glory is trying to entice you into joining the Anything Goes for a Dude Challenge that starts today at Dude Time Doodles. We are very pleased to have The Ribbon Carousel as this week's sponsor who will provide a $10 gift certificate to the winner! So have some fun, life's too short not to be silly!

Fashion Service Magazine, May 1927

Today's card features an image that was scanned from Fashion Service Magazine, May 1927, which I'm sure featured the latest trends of the day. The scanned picture is one of many images available at Digital Two for Tuesday taken from publications of days and years gone by. For a fun look back in time and to see more of what women wore in 1927 visit Dressmaking Research, 1927.

The Old Gray Mare

The Old Gray Mare she ain't what she used to be but she can still kick up her heels and say it's going to be a great day! Sorry, my brain went to song lyrics instead of concentrating on one of Squigglefly's new fun images The Old Gray Mare from Lynne Stansbery! Each Monday Squigglefly holds a new challenge and the design teams take turns providing inspiration. This week's challenge is from Holley's Hobbyists and it's a recipe challenge to use ribbon or lace; brads or eyelets; and a die cut. The die can be store bought, the main die cut around your images, freestyle or cut with your own machines and/or punches to count as your die cut. I just realized that the challenge directions said, "brads or eyelets" I swear I saw buttons so you pretend you see brads!

Pride and Joy

Meet my good friend, Pride and Joy from Doctor Digi's House of Stamps, and his beloved sheep, Flossie. We are all very excited since Flossie recently entered the Sheep Olympics and bagged the first place ribbon! Competition was fast and fleece but in the end, Flossie overshadowed every other contender and won the hearts of all the judges by pulling the wool over their eyes!

Bat Outta Hell

When God gave out beautiful voices, obviously I was not in the room or busy talking. I admit that Bat Outta Hell from Just Inklined sounds just like me, always flat and two beats behind. The difference between us, besides the obvious, is that I know, in fact I've always known that I cannot sing and the very thought of singing in public is so not me. But who knows, maybe when the caregivers at the old folks home take away my pens and replaces them with crayons, I might sing real loud!

I'm Always Here for You

For my card today and keeping it simple, I started with Cryogen White cardstock and stamped it with clear embossing ink, gave it a good dusting with Perfect Pearls and then spritzed it with water to prevent smearing. After it had dried, I mounted it on Berrylicious Pop Tones #65 cardstock and added matching 5/16 Diamond Decadent Dancer ribbon, the sentiment and bling! Cryogen White is my go to cardstock when coloring with copics but it is also my first choice for many other techniques! The cardstock and ribbon used in my card are available at the PaperTemptress. Take the time to visit PaperTemptress and see all the new products in the store!

Jimmy Gymnastics

Today starts a new Guest Designer/Freebie Challenge at Dude Time Doodles. The freebie this month is Jimmy Gymnastics just in time to celebrate and honor the Olympics. While I personally believe it is incredible what these young people sacrifice to join thousands of athletics worldwide and participate in the games, I am very, very thankful that my television is not capable of receiving any channels that carry sports!  If you have a loved one that will be participating, I apologize but I would much prefer watching grass grow!

Birdie Watching

It's Monday and as always, it begins a new Squigglefly challenge. This week the controls have been assumed by Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals for the easy challenge to apply Paper Piecing! I used Squigglefly's artist Mike Eustis's image Birdie Watching to play along. I cut out the computer screen and inserted a scrap of paper that I had stamped with birds. I thought of taking a picture of the back of the card but by the time I got around to photographing it, it was filled with feathers! I am very thankful that my two stray cats, Ms. Big Butts and Henry O. Chester, live outside and never try to come inside to use my computer! I hate to think of all the feathers their presence would add to my fine collection of dust and dog hair that I have painstakingly collected!

Made for Each Other

Years ago I attended the nuptials of Mr. and Mrs. Made for Each Other and today is the anniversary of that happy day! Time has been very good to them both, the bride has maintained her shapely figure and flawless porcelain skin and the groom continues to show that glow of loved that started when his beloved said yes. The couple own a successful body parts shop near their home and enjoy traveling, gardening and quiet evenings by the fire.

Made for Each Other is from Doctor Digi's House of Stamps, a new source for digital images especially for those of us that have a giant-sized funny bone. Guess who wants each and every image in the store!

Cat and Fiddle

I know it is not unusual to see a cat wondering around playing the fiddle, but it is very rare to see such obvious pleasure as is evident by the humongous smile on the face of Cat and Fiddle from Just Inklined. Not only is this tom a terrific musician, but he also has amazing foot tapping abilities!

Uncle Sidney - Body Tots

Welcome to a new Digi Doodle Store Challenge that starts today. The challenge "Sporting Life" is being hosted by Team Ruth. For my card, I used Uncle Sidney - Body Tots, one of the many images found in the collectibles section of the store.  Since Uncle Sidney is an avid hunter he is always toting his gun in case he spots a deer. Interestingly, Uncle Sidney is well known to every buck and doe in the vicinity and they always giggle at him because his excessively big twelve gallon hat covers his eyes and he never sees them!

Please visit my fellow teammates for more "Sporting Life" inspiration and then join the fun and take a chance at winning the $10 gift certificate to spend at the Digi Doodle Shop! And in case you didn't know, Digi Doodle Shop has a 10% storewide sale during the month of July!

Jacques Waterman

Today launches "Fun in the Sun" July's First Wednesday Challenge at Dude Time Doodles! To kick off the challenge, Jacques Waterman joins the merriment by showing off for a group of bikini-clad schoolgirls sitting on the beach. Unfortunately, the young ladies are looking in the opposite direction, watching seagulls no doubt and completely unaware of Jacques' efforts. To make matters worse, it's very likely he is about to become fish food for two very hungry sharks! My best advice to anyone considering swimming in the ocean, DON'T! If you insist on getting in, only wade into the water as far as your ankles and then turn around and run as fast as you can to dry land!

Be sure to visit the blogs of my fellow teammates and then join the Fun in the Sun Challenge at Dude Time Doodles for a chance to be the winner of three images from Bonibleaux Designs!

HAPPY 4th OF JULY! PLEASE MAKE IT A SAFE ONE!

Here's hoping you have a wonderful 4th of July tomorrow! Be safe and remember the reason for celebrating is our independence! I used Patriots Remembered from Sassy Cheryl's for the reminder!

Party Flamingo

It's Monday, time for a new Squigglefly challenge and Holley's Hobbyists are at the controls wanting you to tell us your favorite summer colors! I love the bright neons that spells out fun and Party Flamingo by Suzanne Urban begs for bright colors! After all, when was the last time you saw a drab flamingo?

You don't have to use a Squigglefly image on your creation but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one or one combined with an image that is not from Squigglefly. If you don't have a Squigglefly image and would like to try one, there are several freebies available. The prize for this week's challenge will be three images from Squigglefly since the last two winners did not use a Squigglefly image.

If you are wondering why a flamingo stands on one foot, it's because if it lifted both legs, it would fall down!

Caterpillar

Welcome to Just Inklined's Blog Hop! This month, the awesome Jane is the hostess and she asked the team to create in monochromatic. If you have been following the hop you have arrived from the oh-so talented Jak's blog and have been dazzled with her creation. I used Caterpillar from Just Inklined to create my card. Before deciding what color to proceed with I collected every caterpillar sitting on a mushroom in my backyard and among them, they decided brown was best!

Your next stop in the hop is to see what the sweet Lori has created for the occasion. But make sure you leave a comment as you move through the hop since once again there is a spot prize.
