Platforms Bride

Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals are heading up the new Squigglefly challenge that starts today. The challenge is to use pink and blue on your card. With the help of Fawn Palmer's lovely image, Platforms Bride from Squigglefly, I think I've got the challenge covered!

Today is the last day to sign up for Squigglefly's One-a-Day in May so if you haven't done it yet, you better get a move on because the first image arrives tomorrow! I cannot wait!

Gramps

As the birthdays pile up, and NO, I am NOT going to admit I am anything but young, I do  find myself being drawn more and more to gentlemen who have developed a slight pudge, a few gray hairs, or no hair! So when I saw Fawn Palmer's handsome Gramps from Squigglefly, I fell in love! Granted, he may not look like George or Harrison but . . . he could be a keeper!

Boobie Love

Boobie Love was a freebie from Krista Smith of the Saturated Canary and this pretty image serves as a reminder to get your yearly mammogram! If you feel it is necessary to practice the torture by shutting the refrigerator door on your boob, so be it, just get the job done. I'm off today to get mine! Thanks very much Krista for the lovely image!

Daisy Bumblethorpe

Daisy Bumblethorpe from Just Inklined is at it again, this time she's collecting the neighbor's flowers by the roots to transplant in her mother's garden! Daisy's mother is not in a position to punish Daisy since she purchased the shovel for Daisy and then making it a point to tell Daisy's daddy how much she admired the neighbor's flowerbed! And so the worm turns!

Keith Keystone

Since I live on this side of the pond I have had no personal knowledge of a Bobby, except for on television and in the movies until I met Keith Keystone!  Keith (if you color a dude's pants, you should be privy to call them by their first name) along with Jacques Waterman and John MacinNo are the newest Bonibleaux Designs images to join the Dude Time Doodles family!

In honor of their arrival, the Dude and Dudettes are having a blog hop and hopefully you've arrived from our guest designer Charlene's blog and you've met the other fun characters. If not, hop over to Dude Time Doodles and move along to each blog and enjoy! Along the way, leave a comment for each of us since one of us is the mystery host and an image from Bonibleaux Designs might be your reward for being so kind!

In case you're wondering, the inside of the card says, "Have a happy birthday!"

Outhouse for Rent

Outhouse for Rent by LilyPink Designs, available at Can You Digi It, serves as a reminder that life was simpler back in the day when outhouses were in vogue! Think about it, no stressing if the seat was up or down. No toilet bowl that required scrubbing! And there was no need to worry if the bath tissue you bought would suit the entire family since the Sears & Roebuck catalogue was all that was needed and like clockwork, one arrived in the mail each year! And then, indoor plumbing arrived ending the reign of the outhouse! And that is progress!

Outhouse for Rent also serves as inspiration for the new sunrise/sunset challenge that starts today at Can You Digi It and an opportunity for you to win a $10 gift certificate to the store. In case you are scratching your head as to how I manage to think sunrise/sunset from an image of an outhouse, well, outhouses or indoor plumbing, each are places to visit regardless if it's sunrise or sunset!

Gone Buggy

Holley's Hobbyists are hosting this week's Squigglefly challenge that starts today to make a Mother's Day card. The card can be sweet, funny or thoughtful, for a mother, grandmother, godmother, or as in my case, for a fairy godmother! Since my fairy godmother is particularly fond of frogs I used Gone Buggy by Squigglefly's artist, Sandy Sommerfeld. I was stumped for a sentiment so I turned to Squigglefly's superglue, Holly, and she came up with the perfect sentiment! I'm hopeful that since I made this card for my fairy godmother she will kick it into gear and do my domestic chores!

Top of the Hill

My oldest daughter is at the top of the hill and in a few short days, will be "over the hill"! Amazingly, she will be officially older than I am! Try as I might, I have not been able to teach my children to lie about their age!  The image I used is a freebie from Mayzy Art, perfect for the celebration of my daughter's special birthday!

Zig-Zag

I'm being extremely lazy and posting a card I made sometime ago made with clear embossing and distress stains! Hope you are having a wonderful lazy day too.

It's a Man's World

If It's a Man's World from Just Inklined is a sight that occurs frequently at your house, there is a simple cure! Remove all soft surfaces in your home and replace with hard, straight back chairs without arms or cushions! If you prefer to keep your comfy furniture, place tacks point end up on each of the seats.  Easy fix! In the event neither of the two options help, fill a bucket with water and ice, toss on the catnapper and run like the wind preferably to the other side of town!

Pretty in Pink

Surprise, surprise, another super easy card! To start I dry embossed Pop Tones 100# Razzleberry cardstock from PaperTemptress and attached it to a card base. Next I used black and embossed the flower image onto my favorite Cryogen White cardstock that has a subtle iridescent finish that always brings about beautiful results. Once the embossing was cool, I colored the image with distress ink and then cut the image into three separate pieces and mounted each piece on Pop Tones 100# Cotton Candy cardstock to create the focal point. I used pink/light pink reversible ⅜ inch ribbon with stitching and pearls to finish! Super easy and super pretty card!

RBI Robby

Since the beginning of time, women have chased men beginning at an age when our little legs could barely carry us, but over time, it has become an acceptable form of recreation on playgrounds around the globe. The name of the game is "tag" if you live in the United States or "tig" if you live in the United Kingdom or Ireland. By either name the chase is on!

In honor of the game, Dude Time Doodles is hosting a "tag you're it" challenge that starts today, sponsored by PaperTemptress (my favorite place for cardstock)! I used RBI Robby and created a thank you tag. Visit Dude Time Doodles for more details and then stop by and visit the Dude and the Dudettes for more inspiration! If you can make a tag for a dude, you might be the winner of the $20 gift certificate to the PaperTemptress

Birdbath Chit Chat

It's been a while since I last posted a Sassy Cheryl image so I have one for you today that is called Birdbath Chit Chat. The image reminds me of the birds that enjoy sneaking onto my porch to steal morsels of cat food that has been left behind for later in the day by the stray cat I feed. If the birds see me, they get very chatty in an attempt to tell me to step back, they want to eat!

Can't Shake My Bootie

Lynne Stansbery from Squigglefly had the right idea when she created Can't Shake My Bootie, wrap the pup tightly before they can shake, first one must catch the newly bathed dog! During the chase, caution should be used to prevent broken bones when you slip and slide in the mud that resulted when the dog jumped out of the tub and accidentally knocked it over! And while your muddy-out-of-breath-self is reclining on your back looking at the sky, you will get a shower, like it or not! So my fix for the dilemma is to wrap the dog first, then proceed with the bath or take it to the groomer and let them get all wet!

The challenge that starts today at Squigglefly is a "Mystery" so be sure to check it out! And time is running out to sign up for One-a-Day-in-May

Cheri

Like most little girls, I wanted to be a ballerina when I grew up. Thank goodness that idea didn't last since I definitely have two left feet, really! At weddings, I am challenged when it comes time to do the chicken dance! But I always, always try and always, always get lost somewhere between flapping my arms and laughing! Coloring Cheri from Paper Pretties is as close as I will get to being a ballerina!

Play

I was in the mood to play so I applied some of the new techniques from Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry 101. Such a worthwhile learning experience!

Hydrangea

Hydrangea by Just Inklined is a gorgeous image of the mophead flower of spring, summer and fall. I am a terrible gardener being blessed with two black thumbs, but I am able to enjoy hydrangea blossoms for several months of the year because the plant requires little care! If you enjoy coloring flowers, Hydrangea is one of the many stunning varieties of flowers available at Just Inklined.

Old Trunk & Toys

Old Trunk & Toys from Digi Doodle Shop reminds me of rummaging in my grandmother's attic when I was little. My grandmother lived in Union Star, Missouri requiring a 24-hour road trip and sharing the backseat of the car with my much, much older brother. Naturally, because he was older and bigger, he got the majority of the seat!

A new challenge begins today at Digi Doodle Shop and the challenge is to use Paper Lace - use punches or dies. To create the background for Old Trunk & Toys, I made my own quilt squares and pieced them together to resemble the quilt in the toy box and trimmed it with paper lace.

Get out your punches or dies and use them to create paper lace for your card and join the fun for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop

Lord Money Man

The Taxman Cometh! Yes indeed, just a few short days the deadline for filing income taxes in the United States will be upon us and then we start the countdown all over again. What better way to celebrate the dreaded day but with Lord Money Man and his reminder that, "The best things in life are free . . . or have no interest or payments for one full year!" Lord Money Man is this month's freebie from Dude Time Doodles. Use the freebie and make a card suitable for a Dude and enter your creation in the challenge, you might be our next Guest Designer at Dude Time Doodles! So stop worrying about the taxes and join the fun!

Script Flowers

Can You Digi It starts a new challenge today -- Secret Garden! I used the pretty Script Flowers for the challenge that I printed on a transparency and then placed the transparency over cardstock that I had made by blending various colors of distress inks but I think it would be equally pretty placed over any favorite designer paper. The only drawback to using transparency is that it is difficult to photograph without a glare. In addition, the image comes with several sentiments. You have two weeks to enter the challenge for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store. For more inspiration visit the other "IT" girls and then play along!

Hannah's Hat

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. I know my day was especially sensational but then any day I get to spend with my children and grandchildren or skype with my daughter is Okinawa, is a great day for me.

Since it's Monday, it's new challenge time at Squigglefly and this week Holley's Hobbyists are providing the inspiration for "Orange you glad I didn't say banana?", challenge! You have three choices, use something that's "punny" or use some fruit (in the image, in the embellishments anywhere and any fruit) OR use the color scheme orange and yellow. I used the sweet image, Hannah's Hat by Marla Shega from Squigglefly. Being the mother of three daughters (and two sons) when they were toddlers, each of them wore sunglasses, indoors and outdoors, for a short time until they were too scratched or broke, so this image brings back to me many fond memories!

Have you signed up for One-a-Day-in-May? If not, you should!!

Baby Bath Time

I love Saturday's at Squigglefly because it means they are revealing the week's new releases. One of the images being released today is Baby Bath Time by Fawn Palmer! What a great idea to give baby and the birds a bath at the same time. Think of all the water you'd be saving!

If you love Squigglefly images, you must sign up for One-a-Day in May, one brand spankin' new image each day for $30! That's 31 images! Now that a good deal!

The Doodlebuns Maude

When you see a woman fold her arms tightly across her chest, you know she's angry and you better get out of her way! Such is the case with The Doodlebuns Maude, from Just Inklined. She's just had a spat with hubby and naturally, she won! To remind him of her being right and his error, she commissioned this portrait of herself and it hangs in their parlor with a little plaque that states,  "A woman always has the last word in an argument. Anything a husband says after that is considered a new argument!" Maybe having such a portrait and plaque might be something for all women to consider, it would make a lovely wedding gift for a bride to give her groom or a mother-in-law to her new son-in-law! Perhaps the best solution would be a tattoo that simply states, wife is always right!

Granny Fanny

I love sending humorous birthday cards and Granny Fanny from Squigglefly, absolutely fills the requirement with its funny sentiments. The inside of the card finishes the statement "There is nothing funny about this birthday card" by saying, "I figured your age was funny enough!".

Sashimi

Did you know that a cod fish can weigh as much as 200 pounds? That's a lot of fish, especially if you do not eat fish! I do NOT eat fish, no I do not and because I do not eat fish, I think there should be a name for like-minded people, after all vegetarians have a special label! But I digress from today's card spotlighting Sashimi from Bonibleaux Designs that I am using for the new Dude Time Doodles challenge that starts today, April Fool's - use a funny sentiment! At this point, I do need to be honest (you know I never tell an untruth), I did not think up the sentiment, my online friend and Squigglefly's superglue Holly suggested it!  Thanks Holly

So come on, get silly, I know you can, and join the fun, take a chance on winning three images of your choice from Dude Time Doodles!  Be sure to visit the Dude and the Dudettes for more laughs and giggles!

One Woman

Lots to share with you today featuring my cardstock of choice, Cryogen White from PaperTemptress. I just finished taking the online course, Creative Chemistry 101 given by Tim Holtz, a fun learning experience imparting an unbelievable amount of knowledge! Since I did not have the specific cardstock used in the classes and I was anxious to try the techniques, I decided to give Cryogen cardstock a try and I am so glad I did! The proverbial kitchen sink was literally thrown onto the Cryogen cardstock including many layers of various distress inks and stains, as well as black dye ink!  Cryogen cardstock withstood the torture perfectly! The top panel, One Woman, is an image scanned from a May 1929 edition of Juggler magazine and given as a freebie at Digital Two for Tuesday, a fun blog and if you love vintage, you need to pay a visit.  Also a special thank you to my online friend, Leslie, for sharing the link to the website.

Ted and Agnes

Welcome to the second stop of Just Inklined's blog hop. Hopefully you've arrived from our hostess for the hop, the incredibly talented Jak. Jak's challenge to the team is to use pleats.

Ted and Agnes from Just Inklined takes center stage on my card as the delightful couple that just finished renewing their wedding vows. I love how Agnes is giving Ted a little pat on his butt, no one knows if it's a love pat or behave yourself pat! If you are searching for pleats, I used them among the flower embellishments.

To continue the hop, your next stop will be Toni's blog to see her awe-inspiring creation. Be sure to leave comments as you move through the hop for a chance to win one of the two spot prizes from Just Inklined.

Zippity Bunny

Judging by your comments from yesterday, I didn't overindulge, which is very good news because it means I can buy more and so can you! Goodness I love my followers and especially those who leave me comments that I want to hear!

Today's image, Zippity Bunny, is from Sassy Cheryl's, and it is earmarked for two little girls that have great expectations from Peter Cottontail as he goes hopping down the bunny trail!
