Thank You

Is it possible to have too many thank you cards? I think not especially when they are quick and easy to make.

Dog Show

You already know that I love dogs, any size, shape or color so there is no need to belabor the point further. One of the ways I nurture this love is by going to dog shows and enjoying how animated the dogs become once they have been chosen as winners. Obviously, the creator of Dog Show from Just Inklined Stamps has witnessed the same behavior and has done a fantastic job of capturing their pride and silly smiles for doing a well done job of strutting their stuff.

Surgeon Moo Cow

At our local veterinarian's office they have an area that is designated for the treatment of bovines. Dr. Surgeon Moo Cow is their resident doctor specializing in the treatment of bent tail, an unexplained syndrome that is found in cows closely associated with or living near pigs.  When Dr. Surgeon Moo Cow is not with a patient or in surgery, he can be found at Stamping Dragon Designs.

There is still time to enter Stamping with the Dragon's challenge being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps. To win seven images from Bugaboo Stamps, use three pattern papers, three embellies and one border then link your creation at Stamping with the Dragon

Benny Hanna

I'm certain that when the original masters of karate starting using their battle cry "kiai" indicating a strike, they were not doing so for the sake of Bonibleaux Designs', Benny Hanna at the local fish market.  But it certainly attracts customers.

Trashy Temper

Every Wednesday afternoon I must drag the trash to the curb for Thursday's pick up, it's another one of those domestic jobs that I loath. Of course I cannot think of one household task that I do like.  So my advice to you is that if you are lucky enough to have someone take out your trash, give that person a hug!

Trashy Temper, by Marlooney, is one of the new images being released at Dude Time Doodles. In fact, there are nine new images being released and to see them all, hop the blogs of the Dude Time Doodles' Dudettes. If you have arrived from Chrissy's blog, you are on the right runway and your next stop is Ginny.  If you've just started, keep going, the hop is a loop and you will see them all. Be sure to leave a comment at each blog since one of us is the mystery hostess and the lucky commenter will receive one of the new images.

I hope you've snagged the Dude Time Doodles Scavenger Crawl badge on my sidebar to hang on your blog to help us remind every one of the fun that will take place on August 24 to celebrate Dude Time Doodles first birthday.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the hop!

Some days

Some days you've just got to live a little! Only the hilarious Marlene could create such a truthful, fun image and sentiment. Both are now available at Squigglefly.

Bunny Bushels

Today its Marlene's Marvels turn to share inspiration for the challenge at Squigglefly that starts today. Just because I'm on Heather Headliner's team does not mean I can't participate in Kraftastic and create with kraft paper. The image I used is Bunny Bushels by Diane Carubia. And speaking of artists, Squigglefly is very pleased to add Lulu Lancaster as their newest creator of images.

You have one week to join the challenge and use kraft cardstock to print you image or as an accent. If you don't have kraft, use beige.

Lucky Dog

This is one lucky dog getting to do what he loves best, sticking his head out the window of a moving car and enjoying the feeling of his ears and tongue flapping in the wind.

This lovable image and sentiment is by my awesome friend Marlene of Disguised as a Grownup fame and was one of her many freebies. Thank you Marlene!

Anniversary Scavenger Crawl

and

will soon be ONE year old!!

We will be celebrating with some fun events.

Please grab the badge and post it to your blogs and help spread the word.  There will be prizes, special guests, and great fun had by all.

Never Drown Your Troubles

Stella Tidbits - Drown Your Troubles
I imagine that at one point in time, most of us have tried to drown our troubles, but if you know that person can swim, don't bother. At least that what the infamous Stella from Bugaboo Stamps advises and we all know that she is always right!

Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring the new challenge that starts today at Stamping with the Dragon and the challenge is to use three pattern papers, three embellies and one border. Just so you are not mislead, I used pattern paper to make the sun and the crab and are not part of the image. You have two weeks to link your creation at Stamping with the Dragon for a chance to be the winner of SEVEN digis of your choice from Bugaboo Stamps! Visit the rest of the team to see what they've created with Bugaboo Stamps.

Happy Birthday!

Tomorrow is my youngest daughter's birthday. But since she is currently living in Okinawa, Japan, her birthday will start here midway today which is early morning tomorrow in Okinawa, are you following me? Time zones confuse me because everywhere in the world is my time, the right time! Happy birthday dear daughter, wish I could give you a big sloppy kiss!

Shrinky Shrep

Typical man, always complaining to the little woman that the dryer is shrinking his clothes, never bothering to look down to see if his feet were visible over his beefy belly. This is Shrinky Shrep by the fabulous Marlooney now a featured artist for Dude Time Doodles

Today starts the Inspiration Challenge at Dude Time Doodles. Visit the blogs of my fellow Dudettes for more inspiration then join the fun.

Scruff and Bone

I am so very pleased to share with you that I have been asked to stay on Just Inklined's design team as a permanent member! To help me celebrate, I called upon one of my favorite things in life and that is a dog, albeit imaginary. Meet Scruff & Bone.

The expression on Scruff's face is exactly what I see each morning when Xena, my puppy mill breeder dog, is about to have her breakfast. She cannot contain her exuberance at the thought of food. She perks up her ears, much like Scruff, flips her head back and up and side to side then does her happy dance, nothing like the mad helicopter whirling she does indicating extreme anxiety when I take her outside.  But I keep the faith that one day this beautiful golden retriever will have the confidence to enjoy life as a dog.

Hang 10

It's Monday, time for a new Squigglefly challenge and this week, Heather's Headliners have center stage. The challenge is "Hang 10", use a human or animal image that shows hands, feet, footprints or animal tracks int your project. I used Nate Owens' Dr. Turtle available at Squigglefly. There you have it. It's your turn to try your  *hand* and play along in the challenge. Don't forget to stop and see what my other teammates have created to inspired you.

Sympathy Card and a Card Within a Card

I have two cards to share with you fashioned with incredible cardstock from PaperTemptress.
The first card is simple elegance. I used Black Velvet, that has an unbelievable softness to it and stamped Exotic Bloom then embossed it with clear embossing powder and adhered it to Opal Mica Metallic. Extrememly simple and very tasteful.

The second card is actually a card within a card. I used white ink and stamped swirls on Peachy Velvet Stripes Vellum and formed a pocket and tied it with Copper 3/8 Silky Satin Ribbon. Next, using copper embossing power, I stamped a sentiment on Cryogen White to go inside the pocket and positioned the pocket onto Indigo Blue Skinny Classic Columns that had been embossed with clear embossing powder. Finally, I used a few pieces of lace to hold the pocket in place and a added dots of stickles.

Nap Time

Every parent around the world enjoys the peaceful time that can only take place while children are sleeping.  Stamping Dragon translated that tranquil time into a sweet image called Nap Time.

The clock is ticking. You still have a week to playing along with Stamping with the Dragon's Christmas in July challenge for a chance to win 4 digi images from Meljen's store.

Tea L C

You are not seeing me, far from it. You are seeing Tea L C from Just Inklined  and I would like to point out several differences between this grand ole' gal and myself. First, I would have a golden retriever in my lap, if not two. I would be drinking a cold beer and I would be sitting on a red couch. There is a big difference in our weight and I do not have white/gray hair thanks to my daughter, the hair stylist. I probably would be wearing sweatpants or jeans but definitely not a skirt. But I do like cupcakes!

Rocco Soccer

Rocco Soccer is his name and kicking soccer balls is his game. I just wish his foot actually came into contact with the ball once in a while so his team could win!

Rocco is the new freebie being offered by Bonibleaux Designs for the July Guest Designer / Freebie challenge at Dude Time Doodles.  Hurry over, grab the freebie and join the fun!

Wake Up Denton!

Driftin' Denton by Bonibleaux Designs is combining his two favorite pastimes, fishing and napping!  Mr. Smartypants is not being very smart by disobeying one of the most important rules on the water, never go alone. Well, as you can see, Denton has drifted too far out to sea for him to hear any cries from the shore. Looks like Moby Dick's descendants are about to feast. Let's hope that Denton has the faith that Jonah did when he was consumed by a whale!

Ruth, one of the oh so talented Dudettes from Dude Time Doodles, and her friend, recently launched Fetch A Sketch Challenge and Dude Time Doodles is proud to be sponsoring their second challenge with a $10 gift certificate to the store. To play along and a chance to win the gift certificate, use the sketch and link it here.

Cat Talk

Since its Monday, it must be time for a new challenge at Squigglefly. Marlene's Marvels are challenged (and so are you), to use "Heavy Metal" in your creation such as brads, eyelets, or charms to suggest a few.  To play along, I used  Cat Talk by Nate Owens

One of the things I love about digital stamps is that you can stretch them, shrink them and flip them as I did for my card today. So one image, two cats.

Be sure to visit the blogs of all the members of Marlene's Marvels to see their inspirations and then play along, you have one week to post your creation.

Laundry Part 2

On September 9, 2010, I wrote a post titled "Laundry" in which I lamented all my woes about the tedious task of carrying dirty laundry to the river to wash and then lugging it back again.  The bad news is that I am still dragging the same old clothes basket back and forth to the river but the good news is that I invested in some clothespins and some new duds to hang on the line! Woe is me.

Aw shucks, I didn't mean to do it honest!

Aw shucks, I didn't mean to do it. It slipped, honest! I got in trouble a lot as a kid but I am here to tell you that I never  broke a window because I never could launch a rock using a slingshot. Something between the ears kept me from being able to pull the sling back and hold the rock at the same time so, if there were any broken windows, my brother did it! I used Time Out Tim for Card Patterns weekly sketch challenge sponsored by Dude Time Doodles to make a card for a dude. Check it out, you might be the winner of a gift certificate from Dude Time Doodles.

Christmas in July

A new challenge is starting at Stamping Dragon Designs. The challenge is "Christmas in July" and we are being sponsored by Meljan's Designs, home of whimsical rubber and digital images illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. Meljen's Designs has new releases inspired by her kids and family, along with a new challenge every Thursday, freebies every Monday and a guest designer each month.

My choice for the challenge is North Pole Critters, two best buds freezing their derrières to bring you Christmas wishes.

Now it's your turn to make a Christmas in July card, post it on Stamping Dragon Designs and you might win 4 digi images from Meljen's store.

A brick wall can't stop me from wishing you a happy birthday!

When an image makes me laugh I want it and that was my first reaction to Gripper Stebson from Just Inklined. Each time I look at him I giggle but because of his long history in the wrestling ring, he has stiff joints and several loose screws. Owing to his loss of brainpower he grunts a lot and knocks down walls instead of ringing doorbells. Needless to say, Gripper no longer receives invitations which is really unfortunate since he's a soft touch AND filthy rich!

Pete the Plumber

As it happens, there was a small drip and the lovable, huggable Pete the Plumber from Bonibleaux Designs showed up to repair the leak. However, instead of fixing the problem, he added a pipe to the existing plumbing that caused the drip to become a gusher. *Sigh*, I think Pete was absent from plumbing school when leaks were discussed.

Pete the Plumber is the inspiration I used for this month's sketch challenge at Dude Time Doodles, being sponsored by the awesome folks at Creative Inspirations. For a chance to win, post your creation at Dude Time Doodles. The winner will be announced on July 12. For more inspiration please visit the blogs of my fellow Dudettes.

Playing with UTEE

I felt the urge to play with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. I like the cracked results from placing the pears in the freezer for ten minutes after embossing but I would love to know the secret of how to get ink into the cracks. Regardless, I know the recipient will be pleased to receive the card and bookmark.

I am very happy to report that my blog was one of the mystery blogs of the Just Inklined Blog Hop yesterday. June Nelson of the United Kingdom, please contact me so arrangements can be made for you to receive your image. My email address is at the top of my blog in the sidebar. And thank you all for your wonderful comments that you left for dear ole' Archie Butterthwaite.

In the old summertime

If you are looking for the Just Inklined Blog Hop, please scroll down.

Today is the day that design team members of Squigglefly's Heather's Headliners have been waiting for and that is our first challenge as a new team. The theme is an easy one, In the Good Old Summertime, something that you image summer to be, maybe it's the beach, swimming, picnics, baseball.  Typical of me, sitting makes me visualize summer so I used A Good Read by Teresa Ward

While you are enjoying 4th of July celebrations, consider what summer means to you and then post your card on Squigglefly and you might be the winner. Stop by and introduce yourself to Heather's Headliners and most importantly, have a safe and wonderful 4th of July.

Just Inklined Blog Hop for July

The first Monday of each month, the fabulous design team of Just Inklined has a blog hop and as a guest designer, I get to participate, what a thrill for me! The hostess for the hop is the wonderfully talented Toni and the theme for this month is red, white, and blue, how appropriate for citizens of the United States busy celebrating the 4th of July today.

As you travel the hop, be sure to leave your comments because there are two spot prizes from two mystery blogs.

It was a hard decision but I finally decided to use Archie Butterthwaite and his favorite sidekick. I could not find design paper that I liked so I cut strips of red and white stripes, gave one side a touch of distressing and then staggered the strips, hopefully creating a waving flag.

If you have come to my blog from the incredibly gifted Jak, you have reached the end of hop, but if you are just starting, please begin at Toni's blog so as not to miss seeing all of the astonishing talent of the Just Inklined design team.

Just in case you get lost along the way, here's the links to each design team members' blog.

Thinking of You

My youngest daughter loves, loves July. It's her birthday month and aside from her mother's birthday, the 4th of July is her favorite holiday. This July is marred by tragedy for my daughter with the news of the sudden unexplained death of her dear friend. Unfortunately, because my daughter is living in Okinawa, Japan she cannot get home for her friend's services nor can she get some extra mommy-love for comfort. The best I can do is to post a card and let her know that she is loved.

To make this card, I used Laser Silver Glossy Lustre for the base of the card and embossed Retro Silver Lustre with black to create the sentiment and part of the medallion.  My camera and photography skills do not give a true picture of the pearl-like radiance, striking textured finish and the holograph effect of this beautiful cardstock from the PaperTemptress.

Wave the flag

Happy first day of July everyone and as a public service announcement I am here to remind you to fly the flag with American pride.  USA Independence Day is from Stamping Dragon Designs and its important to their family that you know that even dragons wave the flag!

If you have been drag-on your feet and haven't enter Stamping with the Dragon's latest Summer Time Fun/Sketch Challenge, you still have time. And while you are at it, visit the blogs of my fellow Stamping with the Dragon design team members.
