Rub a dub dub

Since it is the last day of the month that means it's time for Meljen's Designs sweet Bubble Bath Bunny to jump in the tub and rub a dub dub. I hope she was very careful and first checked to make sure the  butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker were not in the water as well!

By the way, its official, you may now wear white!

Good dog/bad dog

Oh dear, a shelf full of yummy cupcakes there for the taking and no one is around, what's the poor dog to do? Will Nate Owen's Pup Dog listen to the angel dog sitting quietly or will he cave into the devil dog beckoning him to go for it? What a dilemma.

To celebrate its 100th challenge, Squigglefly's challenge this week is Triple Digits, use three of something on your creation, three flowers, brads, or whatever you like.  It's not my teams turn, but I still played along and used three of the same image. Join the fun but be sure to use a Squigglefly image to win a prize and don't forget, they have great freebies there for the taking so you have no excuse not to play.

By the way, I think Pup Dog is going to do a snatch and run!

Inspiration

I seldom do cards of flowers. But I could not resist the beauty of Just Inklined's image of a poppy. At the time, my poppies were not blooming. But since I colored this card, my poppies are in full bloom, at least they were until we had a horrible, intense thunderstorm that damaged them and knocked out the electricity for 16 hours. Here is a picture I took a couple hours before the storm.

Don't do as I do

Time for a new Stamping with the Dragon Challenge and this time it is going to be an easel card, any shape or form as long as it's an easel and guess who didn't read the directions? I suppose I could blame the dogs, after all, they can read, but I'll be honest, it was me! So let's pretend its an easel card, simple enough. So about my EASEL card, I used Henry Hero from Bonibleaux Designs, our sponsor for the challenge. So don't do as I do, do as I say, create an EASEL card, add your link to Stamping with the Dragon and you might be the winner of a $10.00 gift certificate to pick from all the wonderful fun Dude Time Doodles images, home of Bonibleaux Designs.

In case you missed it

In case you missed my debut at PaperTemptress yesterday, I am sharing my card with you today (can't get away from me can you).  I used Cryogen white cardstock to make the card, absolutely a dream to work with and what a difference it makes when coloring with copics.

Yippee

Yippee, hoot-hoot! It's new release time at Bonibleaux Designs and that means the Dude Time Doodles' Dudettes are having a blog hop to give you a chance to see who is new in the Dude Time Doodles' family. I used Luky Strike, the prizewinning pitcher. Of course, he plays for the Phillies!

And don't forget there is an Open DT Call until June 15, all the details are posted on Dude Time Doodles.
And, are you aware that as an added bonus for being a Dude Time Doodles follower, Stamp-By-Step is offering a 10% discount. Click on the link in my sidebar for the discount code and to be taken to the website.

Today is another special day for me as I make my debut at PaperTempress as a designer. Luky Strike is pitching a hit on Blumarino and Rosso Incandescent cardstock. Because of our lack of sunshine in what seems like months, my camera could not pick-up the stunning golden undertone and sparkle of this beautiful cardstock. Please visit PaperTemptress Community Blog to see the lovely card I created using Cryogen White cardstock.

Now continue with Dude Time Doodles' new release blog hop to Ruth.  The hop is a continuous loop so you can jump in at any of the Dudettes' blogs and keep going. Be sure to leave each of us a comment, you never know who is the Mystery Hostess this month. And when you get to Hetty's blog, leave her some extra love since she has decided to step down as a Dudette.

In case you get lost, here's the list:

A "Stella"-ism!

We all know that there are hundreds of "isms" in this wonderful world but my favorite would have to be a Stella-ism. Life of the party Stella always says it best.

Paper Piecing

Time for another Squigglefly challenge, can you believe its Monday again? This week Chelsea's team is providing you with inspiration showcasing Squigglefly images and paper piecing. I printed Diane Knott's fruit trio on different papers, then I used a background stamp and a touch of distressing to get a charming notecard that I can use to keep in touch with a friend. Now it's your turn to show us what you can do. To be eligible to win the prize you must use a Squigglefly image. If you do not have one, treat yourself or try a freebie.

By the way, do you know what the apple said to the pear and the lemon? --- Orange you glad we're not grapefruit!

Puff and Puff

Meet big and little Puff of Stamping Dragon Designs. Puff is always having an identity crisis because everyone confuses him with the puffer fish that is believed to be the second most poisonous vertebrate in the world so it is very difficult for him to make friends. I am here to tell you all Puff wants to do is make you smile!

Be sure to visit the rest of the design team of Stamping with the Dragon to see what they have for you today. And don't forget, you still have time to enter the latest challenge being sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads.

I would like to introduce you to Party Gal and Party Guy by Nate Owens available at Squigglefly. I think I'll let the two of them do the talking!

Chef Burly Becky

I remember when pizza was a treat that came in a box from Chef Boyardee. My aunt usually made it and we would watch in great anticipation as she mixed the little packets with just the right amount of water to make the dough and then opened the accompanying can of sauce and finally topped it with dried cheese that came in the mix. Great memories but today's pizza in comparison, well there is no comparison. Now pizza is a staple of life especially for kids and that is probably why Chef Burly Becky of Bonibleaux Designs is so popular because he makes wonderful pizza. Just don't let the chef's hat fool you, anyone who works at a pizzeria covers their head to protect it from flying dough!

Since it's the third Wednesday of the month, that means its time for a new Dude Time Doodles inspiration challenge. Here's the inspiration and you see mine now go for it and join the fun just link up your creation at Dude Time Doodles.

Mr. Big Butt

I know, I know, never feed a stray cat if you do not want it to come back. That's all well and good if the cat seems to be in good shape and maybe just lost and trying to find its way home but when I see the same cat day after day, obviously starving, I cannot help myself and throw caution to the wind and buy a bag of cat food and give it a name. Mr. Big Butts just so happens to be one of those cats. I resisted as long as I could and finally gave in and now I look forward to his daily visit. No kind deed goes unrewarded and although I still have mice, leaving Mr. Big Butt some kibble everyday has also brought to my front porch one bluejay and three crows. Its great fun to watch the three crows try to sneak the food, after all, if it's not stolen, it is not worthwhile. The crows prefer to sneak up one by one and steal a morsel and then take off only to come back a few minutes later for more. One of the crows is obviously a male because he always struts his "stuff", puffing himself up to impressed the ladies, and then steals the food. The three crows are never too far away, they like to land on the other side of the porch and slink to where the food is but when the bluejay arrives, they all take a step back, as if in respect or fear.

The image is a freebie from Beccy's Place and below is a picture of Mr. Big Butts himself. On the other hand, it might be Ms. Big Butts and I will have to buy more cat food! Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures but they were taken through two doors.

Anything BUT the Usual

Today Vicki's team sets the pace for the Squigglefly challenge. The challenge is "anything BUT the usual". It's a good thing that I am not on Vicki's team because I struggle when I am asked to go outside my box, after all, I love my box! Since I do like to participate each week, I used Fun Flowers by Paulette Rich Long of Squigglefly. You can play along but to win a prize you must use a Squigglefly image. You can shop at Squigglefly or snag one of their freebies. And speaking of freebies, in honor of Squigglefly's 400th follower at Scrapbook News and Review, there are two new Shy Bears by Lynne Stansbery available here

Dropped from Heaven

We all know that babies are found in cabbage patches but wouldn't it be nice if they were "dropped from heaven" in a field of sunflowers like this sweet image from Di's Digital Downloads? I used this image from our sponsor, Di's Digital Downloads, as an inspiration for you to join the new challenge at Stamping with the Dragon. It's a sketch and recipe challenge and the winner will receive five digital images from  Di's. You have two weeks to join the fun. The recipe: 1 dig, 2 pattern papers and 1 embellishment using the sketch:

Dawn's Llama

The first time I saw Dawn's Llama by Sassy Cheryl, I fell in love with the image. What can I say, I am an animal lover at heart. Being the curious person that I am, I did a little research on the llama and this is what I learned.

It is believed that the llama originated in the central plains of North America and migrated to South America 3 million years ago. By the end of the last ice age, they were extinct in North America.

Llamas are very social and curious and usually do not have difficultly approaching humans unless it is over-socialized. When this happens they treat humans like a fellow llama and one might be subjected to spitting, kicking or neck wrestling.

When aroused, the male will "orgle" (similar to gargling -- now isn't that romantic?), and will continue this sound to the finale, usually about 20 to 45 minutes later. A "cria" will arrive 11.5 months later weighting in around 20 to 30 pounds. Since a llama has an attached tongue and can only extended it about an 1.5 inch out of its mouth, mommy llamas do not lick their newborn clean, instead, they nuzzle and hum to it, a llama lullaby.

Okay, now tell the truth, how many of you stuck their tongue out to see how far it extended?

Jack Janitor

Gotta love a man who shares in housecleaning chores and Jack Janitor by Bonibleaux Designs is one such dude. Jack Janitor is this month's freebie challenge at Dude Time Doodles for a limited time. The winner of the freebie challenge will be our guest designer for a month and get to play with some of the other fun images from Bonibleaux Designs. So go to Dude Time Doodles, grab the freebie and you might be our next guest designer.

Not long ago

Not long ago I got a job as a receptionist at a local television station and I met a wonderful co-worker. In a very short time, we became fast friends and too many years later to count, she is still at the top of my list of friends. Aside from being a terrific homemaker and gardener, she is a devotee to crossword puzzles so what better way to express my sincerest birthday wishes to Lynn. Happy birthday and have a wonderful day!

Rolling Pin Granny

Rolling Pin Granny is another fun image by Nate Owens of Squigglefly that I used for this week's challenge. The challenge is create a shape card -- not a square or a rectangle. Come on over and join the fun, you do not have to use a Squigglefly image but to be eligible for a prize you do. Squigglfly has so many wonderful artists and each Saturday they release more images so finding an image for any occasion is not difficult and if you prefer, you can always try a freebie.

I am being very lazy today.

Fire Dog

Isn't Fire Dog from Stamping Dragon Designs cute? The actual image is blank so it can be colored to suit several breeds. But when it comes to fires, I can't help but think of a dalmatian and besides, I love dalmatians!

Don't forget, you still have time to enter the "May Day" challenge going on at Stamping with the Dragon.

Lucy

My youngest daughter, Alecia, cannot get enough of Lucille Ball. Trash can, bathrobe, shower curtain,  towels, cups, paper dolls and dolls, if its Lucy, she probably has it or wants it. She loves Lucy so much that when they posted a notice that auditions were being held for "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" she decided to go for it and was cast as Lucy. Unfortunately, the show has been cancelled but at least she got a cute card out of the deal.

Alecia just recently started a blog, Okinawa: Japadelphia, where she shares the wonderful experiences she is having living in Okinawa, Japan. I am very proud of her enthusiasm and her willingness to make the very best of every situation. Stop by for a visit and please leave her some love.

Cletus

I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite "gentlemen" friends. His name is Cletus and he is one of Bonibleaux Designs latest releases! Isn't he handsome! I know he only has one tooth, but he does have a full set of dentures. Apparently wearing his store-bought teeth interferes with his ability to strum his banjo in tempo.

Since it is the first Wednesday of the month, a new sketch challenge starts today at Dude Time Doodles. The sketch is "anything goes and use a flower". The sentiment I used is by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs, our gracious sponsor for the sketch challenge. Ann is giving the lucky winner three sets of sentiments and a custom watermark or custom signature. A big thank you goes to Ann for such generosity!

Be sure to visit the rest of the Dudettes to see their inspirations for the challenge. Post your creation at Dude Time Doodles for a chance to be the winner, we'd love to have you!

Speaking of birthdays

We were speaking about birthdays weren't we?

I used another fun puppy dog image, Hot Dog, by Nate Owens of Squigglefly. I'm really happy with this birthday card, I think the combination of polka dots and the silly dog, makes a perfect card for someone not particularly happy to have another birthday.

Prima Ballerina

A challenge to use flowers starts today at Squigglefly. Although it is team Vicki's turn to host the challenge, I like to play along. The image I used is by Diane Knott and it is one of four images in the Prima Ballerina set available at Squigglefly's store.

Isn't this gown beautiful? Well guess what, this is what I wore to the wedding!

Granddaughter's Birthday

In the early part of April, I was lucky enough to win a free sheet of digis from Whoopsi Daisy Designs when I comment on the blog of my online friend Nataliya of Love Crafts Forever, thank you Nataliya. In turn, I created a birthday card for my sweet granddaughter who just celebrated a birthday! I love metallic paper but it is so difficult to photograph and for whatever reason (I KNOW it is not my fault), you cannot see the sparkle on her wings.

The rest of today's comment is only for those who visited my blog yesterday. Did you scrub your belly button?
